"Hmm now I'm debating if this is for serious reasons or something a wee bit kinky." It's serious but yep, no friend involved. I'm through to round 2 of the selection process with a funeral director and just wanted a natter about the business in general. Death holds no mystery for me. | |||

From a young age I knew that I wanted to something related to death, I'm not afraid of it, not creeped out by it. I find it fascinating yet totally respect it. I visited a few funeral directors as a teen to put the feelers out and get as much info as I could. Was told to get back in touch as soon as I got a driving licence. Turns out "my twitchy thing" is actually photo sensitive epilepsy and I'll not drive unless I go on medication and be twitch free for a decent amount of time so I never bothered. At 18 I was accepted onto an embalming course at college. The mother made me take the job at the petrol station I got offered at the same time .... coz she wanted rent off me. Yep, proper set me up for life there mother! P | |||

"So sorry to hear that, I feel it takes a special something to deal with death. Have the rules changed about driving yet? (please say hi to you partner in crime for me please)" The way I am personality wise now I don't think I could do the "peopley" side of it, I think dealing with the families would drain me too much emotionally but the "body" side of it I'd be fine with, respect and in fact feel honoured to be in a position of such trust. "Lord so you've gone from one end of the spectrum to the other." Ha! Actually, they are shockingly similar, and rightly so, both very normal and unavoidable. I've cuddled many a dead baby with a grieving family and watched women giving up something of themselves at the moment of birth to become mothers and the following grieving process. | |||
