"How are we all doing? I am completely destroyed after Manchester marathon yesterday!" Congratulations, I’m training for London, did my first 17 mile run yesterday and that was enough to destroy me. I feel your pain! Hope you got a time you’re happy with.

"After a 3 week holiday then a work trip I've actually found it hard just doing my 12 hour shifts at work without the running finished work this morning, well and truly shagged, legs still tight and achy so not run today, tattoo booked for tomorrow so I will have to see about wed but it may not be this week I run " Blimey, that’s some serious work pattern! From the previous thread it sounds like you were doing well on the C25K, you’ll be back up to speed again soon.

I feel your pain! Hope you got a time you’re happy with. " Good luck for VLM. I'll be at around mile 17 supporting for the charity my gf ran for in 2016 Sunday didn't go to plan but not to bothered. I'd set off at on pace but realised after 10km there was no way I was going to keep it going so had eased in to enjoy it mode. And then at mile 12 was almost taken out from behind by a guy who ran in to me (no hard feelings it was an accident) but my shoulder took the full impact and after that it all went wrong. I could feel myself twisting my hip and pelvis because of the pain in my shoulder and upper arm and from then on in it just got painfull! Have to say that I absolutely loved it as a race far better support and organisation than most marathons I've done and I'll definitely be back. Time to recover and then start training for Amsterdam

"Yesterday I stepped up from park run to a 10k at hamsterley forest. Was brutal as first 5k was all up hill and total 685foot of climbing. Finished in 1:16:06. " Well done! on the time and finding such a tough event as your first 10km!

"I'm still searching for my mojo which has been absent since last year, I've only done a handful of runs this year so far but I've just done my second of the week. I realised that after missing all of the spring marathon windows, if I don't get my arse in gear then I'll miss the autumn ones too. I need my ass kicking... " I am first in line for ass kicking Tea Monkey

"What mileage you up to so far ? I'm suffering from real heavy tied legs everytime I run at mo which is killing my pace and making it very hard work." Me? I did 12 on the weekend. 16 this weekend then up to 26 as a maximum. The other runners and the occasion will see me through the last 6

"New PB at parkrun this morning. My running mojo is back!!! Yay! Did you see mine on the way? I fear my mojo has gone off looking for yours!" Is there a mojo section in the 'he runs/she runs' section? If so, I'm there! I'm going to drag my ass out of bed in the morning and go, now it's warmer there's no excuses... I need to get my fitness back, the cycle for Chester starts end of May, that was my minimum target for the year.
