I've had a few conversations with various people recently regarding how I selected who I met and the criteria that I employed. Looking back it has changed radically for me since I first joined, primarily through trial and error.

It's started me thinking though, what criteria others employ and how it's changed over time. So dear fabbers, what do you do and how has it changed?

I used to do searches a lot when I first joined, I then found the forums and don’t search at all now.

I’m in a comfortable place now and I like and enjoy it very much.

I don't think my criteria have changed a great deal at all since I joined - for me it's about connection, chemistry and attraction and always has been - if none of those factors are there then I'm not interested in meeting.

I've met lots of forumites socially but never for anything more.

My partners have been people I've found by searching for specific kinks and have mostly stuck around for between 6-12 months, which has suited me fine. One nighters have never been my thing so not something I've ever looked for.

I'm no longer looking for NSA and when my profiles visible it clearly reflects that.

The next person I meet would be someone I'd want to invest time with and no longer want to share that with anyone else.

I'm here for friendship and entertainment now, nothing more.

For me it's height. There also has to be a physical attraction - can't define that but it's either there or not there. Then the ability to hold a conversation - someone I find intelligent and funny. Sexual compatibility sits alongside that in the ranking - but it's a little broader, I like a range of things...

Initially based on profile, pics, forum interaction and how messages flow - that last probably being the biggest indicator - if messages don't flow naturally and you're always trying to think of something to say, then it's unlikely the connection is there

Respect, connection, a certain spark. Unfortunately it's a "I know it when I see it" thing!

My criteria haven't changed, but I'm more wary than I used to be.

I don't think I've ever had set criteria, I find different things attractive in different people and I'm not really looking for anything in particular.

There are a couple of things I stipulate on my profile but they're not set in stone if there is enough attraction there.

I like a sense of humour for starters, not an everyday “fun” sense of humour but the type where you might at first glance think they were a bit of a weirdo.

And i like dark haired men.

I have a thing for older men too. And Scottish/Australian men.

I also like my men to be quite outgoing as i’m extremely shy and reclusive.

I also like them to be extremely dirty minded and send me highly filthy missives. Graphically filthy.

Which is why i don’t meet often - there are far too many gentlemen on here!

We don’t have one, we are getting more meets recently because we’ve been putting the leg work in, I guess the only guideline we have is the female should be a ‘bigger’ lady as we would both feel uncomfortable with a skinny minnie because we are both larger people, however that said if we began chatting to someone and she was of that nature and we all felt an attraction then that would go out the window because it’s all about attraction of the mind and body, maybe we are too hard on ourselves and that we don’t feel a thinner person would be attracted to us?

I don't think our criteria has changed really. Do their interests match ours? Is there a mutual attraction? Can we sychronise diaries?

We have learned a lot since we started out and there are certain things we bear in mind nowadays e.g. one or both of us avoid alcohol, we never stay over, we never give second chances.
