Seen in far off places

Have just taken delivery of my latest online purchase - more aftershave for my 'bulging at the seams' collection.

On this occasion, I have opted for a well established and trusted fragrance popular with gents of the nineties decade.

Wow! Just one squirt and the memories have come flooding back - a young Girth Minge Fire, shagging with wild abandon, to a soundtrack of nineties Indie Brit Pop.

What specific smells bring back fond memories for you? (this shouldn't just be limited to aftershave / perfume)

Furthermore, to all you gorgeous Fab ladies - if you fancy a bit a Girth Minge Fire drenched in Calvin Klein Escape, feel free to message me!!

Somewhere In The Ether…

A bizarre one this; the smell of chalk, which I associate with a specific, fondly remembered artistic endeavour I undertook at primary school.

Agree - fondly remembered artistic endeavours, from primary school, are not for forgetting. Go buy yourself some chalk sticks!...

My first girlfriends perfume. It’s not so popular any more but when someone’s wearing it I can smell it from miles away

The overpowering smell of a field of r@pe seed. Was a young teenager and was my first time going down on a girl. Now whenever I drive past one of those yellow fields, I open the car window; take in the heady smell and a secret smile spreads across my face

Unfortunately mines not so happy. The smell of bacon cooking I associate with my Mum cooking me and my sister breakfast when we were nippers . I still eat bacon, but the smell makes me think about her

Inis...made in Ireland. I bought a bottle recently but it doesn't seem to smell the same now. Not expensive but used to be a great smell. My late husband first bought me a bottle and I was hooked.

I love Mon Paris for dates there is something about that smell that gets my senses tingling.

I once had the scent of the woman I had met on my nostril hairs for a couple of days, that brought some very distinct memories flooding back

Rural Wiltshire

When I smell freshly cut timber I instantly think of my dad. I remember him coming home from work and that was the first smell. That hit me when he came home. Miss him loads.

Leather.

Reminds me of my tack room. When I used to walk in first thing and the smell of freshly saddle-soaped leather used to hit me!

It's amazing how a smell can transport you across time to a specific moment long forgotten and people long since passed
