So many people reply to threads with “be patient”

So are you a patient person or one that believes in making it happen and not sitting back ?

We’ve been very patient up to now but that wasn’t getting us anywhere, so now we are much more go out and grab it all! And it’s working!

I think that's largely in response to (mainly) men who come on here bemoaning their "luck" in getting meets with their relatively new profiles, so absolutely applies.

I can be both patient and impatient generally speaking, very much depends on the situation and circumstances - if it's something I really want and am able to do something to make it happen, then I will - if it's not something I can directly influence then I can sit back and wait

I’m patiently proactive now rather than simply passive. I was passive for 5 years because I didn’t want to meet but was happy to make online friends, who saw beyond my deliberately off putting profile and self-deprecating ways on the forum. Now I’ve learned a lot during my sabbatical and I’m gently getting back into the water in terms of my approach but found that what I was getting into was a rapids ride rather than a millpond. I’m just finding my balance in how to get the most enjoyment out of a rapids ride

Not the best analogy but it will do for now

I’m really patient but I soon run out of it if people push me with their own impatience. It’s a weird dichotomy here.

I waited something like 19 months between first message to a fab friend to actually meeting her.

Depends on the person I'm chatting to.... I've been chatting to some people for over a year and still patiently waiting to meet them bit others has been an immediate let's meet today kind of thing....

I don't get why it's a bad thing for women to tell men to be patient.

Analogy. You have two people. One has an injury that prevents exercise, one needs to improve their fitness. If the second person is advised to exercise, should they complain that they want to sit on their arse, too?

Men and women here are in different positions and need different advice. If men were being bombarded by women, the advice would be the same. It's a tough game, desperate isn't a good look, etc.

We’re patient waiting for the club night but we also get bored quick if it seems like it’s never going to happen, people have lives though we are often too busy to meet at a drop of a hat and I quite like the flirty build up so I can wait, as long at it’s not too long

I think context is required here.

Contacting numerous women and couples then not getting any response, before asking whats the point means one needs to be a little patient. Us guys have to compete with loads of other guys,as well as couples and females so its not easy...nor quick.

Hence why most say 'be patient'.

That said if you (OP) were to put up a meets request along the lines of 'free tomorrow for a shag' I'm sure you'll have a que of men outside your door longer than a free open day at the Playboy mansion.
