Spent far too many lunchtimes in a record shop in Dartford whilst at school, headphones on, sampling albums.....or LP's as they were known then!

A lot of 60's/70's stuff, still have most of the LP's I spent my hard earned paper round money on.

I think that’s the same with any decade. For every perceived classic there was a novelty record or a St. Winifred’s School Choir right next to them in the charts.

There is in every era though - early 80s was when my musical tastes really took off and I always look back at that time fondly but a recent watch of some early 80s TOTPs showed that for every Madness, The Jam, Dexys or The Specials there was stuff like Fiddlers Dram, St Winifreds School Choir, The Dooleys and worse around!!
