How long have you been using the forum?

couple, us we him her.

And do you feel part of the community?

I'm guessing that we have been using it for about 4 year's on a previous profile and this one.

Username has changed and reverted back to this one a few times, for sarcastic, ironic and general fancied a change reasons.

However after all this time I ( Mr as I do most of the post's) don't feel part of the forum community or "clique" for want of a better word.

I guess that's partly due to me not wanting to fall inline with the sycophants and ass lickers.

Or mostly my post's are for my own entertainment going over most people's head's just to amuse my warped humour.

Do others feel like permanent outsiders or do you feel like you're one of the team a valued member?

Just over a year. I joined in originally and gave my honest opinion on a forum post, didn’t realise they didn’t want honest opinions and recieved not kind messages

It put me off for a wee while.

Using the forum around six/seven years now.

I do kind of feel part of the community but also don't at times. I just kind of do my own thing and if others join in, get it, great, if not, fuck it, I'm amusing myself.

I’ve been on for nearly 5 1/2 years. I think I sit on the border of the forum bridging out and in. I’m more out than in probably.

I've been using the forum since my first profile 10 years ago or so. Do I feel part of a community? No, not really. The majority of my posts go uncommented on but I'm monty here to read the opinions of others and I like putting my two penn'orth in!

I've met only a handful of people from the forums and only really a couple of the more known people. A few people.

Only used the forums for about 6 months and post when I feel like it.. the more people I get to know and meet in person the more I realise it's friendships not cliques.. I'm not bothered if posts are replied to or ignored.. it's just an online forum no big deal.

I’ve been popping in and out of the forums for two years. I don’t really expect anyone to read or acknowledge what I say. I breeze in, comment, then leave. Well mostly anyway.

I don’t know whether I feel part of the community or not. I’ve never really thought about it. I enjoy what I do though

Been posting about 6 years. I only dip in when it suits. I don't conform or try to be liked so I've never been part of the in crowd. That is just perfect. It means I don't have to pretend to be everyone's friend.

Couple of years on my singles, 4 months or so on this one. I do feel I get support if needed, as I did as PP.

I've never felt part of a clique but have always felt part of a community, even if at times it's the role of "the nutty old bint who harps on about random shit"

As with real life, I'm not great in groups

Skirting round the edges is far more style

I'd sooner be friendly with 2 or 3 folk away from the forums than be a 'threadlebrity' and known to all

Using the forum for a few years now under various guises.

Can be hard to breakthrough and chat, but everyone is lovely when you do.

Not liking the backbiting and bitching tbf, see no need. But good far outweighs the bad.

I've been using it alot, mainly because it's the only place on here I get to talk with others.

Outside of the forums there's next to nothing and I don't feel welcome, I've tried since beginning of last year with multiple profiles changing constantly but no matter what no one checks ... There's a very low level of women in Newcastle and the majority of them have no interest.

I'm tempted to try the day play at club shhh this week if I don't have anything planned on Wednesday just to get out the house for the day see if I can get talking to some people. If that doesn't work I don't know where to go from there ...

I've been on here just over a year I think.

I don't feel like an outsider but definitely not part of the 'establishment' and that's the way I like it. I don't think many people really get me and I'm not really fussed about that. There's no point in adapting myself to try and make more people reply or message me more.

I don't have a craving for any more then the tiny amount of attention/contact I get and I'm certainly not going to start "kiss/fuck/help change their spare tyre" threads just to make myself look popular. The day I do that is the day I stop coming on here.

That's a serious and intimate as I get, now, feck off.

I’ve been on and off for eight years or so . Do I feel a part of the community ? No , not the forum community at all . The swinging community yes , but not the forum and that suits me just fine .

I’ll never fit in with the forums as I prefer to just say what I think regardless of who said what .

I totally don’t fit in with the liberal , left wing , peace and love to all mentality often expressed on here either . I have opinions , I judge and I lean more to the right . And I’ll never read the guardian either , I much prefer the Sun

Since 2011, as soon as I could. I’m mostly on the edges though and have two well known people who do their best to belittle me and pick apart every word.

I’ve made mistakes here too but as always, know better new better.

I’ve also met many many forumites and sometimes been a bit star struck over them, lots are now friends. It’s a shame that the format is so crushingly old and basic compared to all the other forums I use.

Been on fab 5 years but probably around 4 years on the forums!

I’m not on here as much as some - but some of the friends I’ve made because of the forums and socials will, I hope, be lifelong ones!

Next weekend my house is being invaded by half a dozen amazing, bonkers people that I’d never have met if it wasn’t for the forums!

It can also be a very supportive place when life drags you down a little (or a lot). I’d say it’s an online community rather than a clique - though of course it’s impossible for everyone to get on with everyone else - and most of us have had spats with others from time to time!

Hiding in the shadows

Since before I joined!

Someone I knew told me about the site, I browsed it via his profile.

I read a lot of forum stuff, for a while, then finally signed up.

Part of the clique?

No

I've met a few people via the forum, lots of people at organised social events, have made an amazing group of friends that I do normal real life stuff with, so maybe we share a few in jokes, often agree with each others views on certain topics, like any friends with similar views would.

But I wouldnt say that's a clique

I've been in the forum for 10 years and am certainly part of it- there's not a special membership for it. We each use and contribute to it in our own way, just as our lives are loved differently.

There are many things I could gain instead, such as generating humour, more partners and a lot of other things but my general style suits. When my needs change, I'll vary thongs.
