So this morning I went for my 'run' I stupidly looked at the forth coming weeks the other day and nearly poo'd myself.

3 runs of 25 mins non-stop running. I thought I can do this I did one of these on Wed it will be fine you managed that

All was going well until I hit the last 5 mins, I stopped and walked about 10 meters, then started running again....

When Jo (I have Jo) said you have a min left I thought yes mate, as soon as she stopped talking I stopped running so finished 30s earlier than I should have

Now feel disappointed with myself for 'stopping', yet at the time I tried to tell myself it was ok and my body was not hurting why do I need to stop, but the little voice in my head won

Why do you need to stop? Because it’s bloody difficult.

Don’t beat yourself up, you’re doing something that’s very hard. Give yourself a chance to do it the day after tomorrow.

Signed,

A Successful C25K runner

It's the first time I've stopped, even on Wedensday when I did my first 25 min no stop I didn't stop

Thank you will try and remember its hard , I assume everyone else has done it so it must be easy...

Plenty have done it, but most have the mental scars

You can do it, give yourself a chance to be awesome next time

It’s ok to stop.

Most runners stop on runs. I’m up to 10k from being a C25k runner a few years ago. I still stop, stretch, catch my breath and carry on.

Why is stopping such a taboo thing? Ask most runners and they don’t know why new runners get so worried about it. Ultrarunners will tell you they walk up hills, they stop and then they run on. Only people running races and those wanting a PB will try not to stop.

So you stopped, but you ran a considerable distance prior to stopping. If you’d stopped on the sofa and not run, that’s a worry

Thank you

I guess you see the likes of Mo running marathons and not stopping... so you assume it's bad to stop

Next run is on Monday, so will get my head round this before then I hope xxx
