Yes he should be allowed to if it's in accordance with his licence

But would any club want to sign a convicted paedophile who used his position to abuse a fan?

Definitely!

To class him as a peadophile is totally wrong!

If anyone saw the girl on social media he was accused of meeting with, then you’d realise why he thought she was older than what she told him!

I read that no clubs, even foreign ones want him.

This.

The club would loose many fans with a convenient paedophile playing, no parent would take their child to a game.

So it's okay to abuse a child and be fully aware of their age if they look older??

Did he have sex with an under age girl? If he did, then to label him a paedofile is the correct and appropriate label.

Family paid her former sexusl partners to discuss her sex life in court and somehow discussing the victims sexlife was deemed permissable evidence. And society seems to think that a woman who enjoys sex will consent to anything with anyone

Yeah he should be allowed to, but it's a free market, clubs are under no obligation to hire him.

As for his offense... I don't know enough detail to be sure but from what I've read calling him a pedo is a huge reach. That being said I was given to understand it was a mistake regarding age, people in here seem to have the idea he knew her age for certain which if that's the case makes me far less sympathetic

what total nonsense. she was proved to be a liar in court. she lied about several things DURING the 1st trial that come to be proved during the 2nd trial, new evidence came to light hence the courts ordering a retrial.

He has served half the sentence which I believe is normal now a days with prisoner sentences. He is entitled to earn a living so it makes sense to try to find a job in the area you are best qualified for and if you get job satisfaction all the more better for it.However as he is now infamous of what he was found guilty of I can’t see a club offering a contract in any of the clubs in the UK from Premiership to National League North & South which are levels 1 - 6 in the football pyramid. That leaves levels 7 - 10 which are basically regional league semi professional run clubs would they take a chance on him again I don’t think so.I think it will be difficult for him to get back into football as how would the owners , managers , team mates feel about having a convicted paedo working at their clubs.

So meeting a girl being fully aware of her age and for the sole reason of engaging in sexusl activities is a huge reach from beog a paedophile?

By that logic I assume all those people caught on line by paedophile hunters are also innocent? Because that's what Johnson did. Only this tine it was a real school girl who turned up and was assaulted by him

Lee Hughes killed somebody in his car after swerving onto the wrong side of the road, did a runner and hid from the police for the best part of 2 days before turning himself in. It doesn't take a genius to work out why he did the runner but it paid off for him because he went on to play for 3 league clubs once he'd completed 3 of his 6 years.

Compared to that, I don't see why Johnson shouldn't play again but please...not at my club.

lawyers often find mitigating circumstances when someone is found guilty. It’s called ‘attempting to reduce the sentence’. Obviously there’s a moral difference between someone being found not guilty even when they did the crime simply on a technicality rather than not. Or doesn’t it matter? T matters to me. I have high moral standards.
