Yeah think they’re a standard thing. I have to pass 3 schools before getting to my daughters school and the one just before her school is savage and I’m sure she has it in for me.

She’ll put her lollipop up to stop to let parents/adults with no children cross the road. That does my tits in when I’m running late.

Hiding in the shadows

Few years ago the lollypop lady at the school I worked at needed a week off unexpectedly & we were told the LA didn't have anyone available to cover.

I volunteered.

Seriously?

That is one job you could not pay me enough to ever do again

Was lovely seeing all the kiddos, getting waves & thank yous from them and the parents.

But the aggression from some motorists, actual verbal abuse, and several near misses!

Although shouting abuse from a sign written company van, in front of a dozen kids and filmed by a patent is never a good idea - especially when the person you're abusing is godmother to the company owners kids

I didn't do a thing

The parent filming contacted the company.

The owner was livid, then he saw the video

I didn't know anything until he phoned me to say he'd sacked 2 of the guys, and he was giving a month's wages to schools swimming pool fundraiser!

But yeah, it made me smile

Bloody power crazy round here- the lollipop makes them invincible and they just wander in to the road at will, no caring that they could just wait ten seconds for you to pass, as theres nothing behind, and not have to slam the anchors on

Why not, they maybe the adults need to cross too?

Most motorists I've encountered have little regard for pedestrians trying to cross the roads, even at proper crossings too.
