More bread

To me a sandwich is made of slices of bread as is a sarnie

But a butty made from il use the universal and incorrect term of bread roll

Agree or not

Bread cake is a butty like a fish butty, sandwiches sarnie are sliced bread with the few exceptions of a good bacon butty which can be in sliced bread or a bread cake

Butty sometimes depending on the filling, otherwise I call it a sandwich. For instance I have bacon, jam, cheese or chip butties, but always tuna and cucumber or ham salad sandwiches

Oh and if it’s in a roll or baguette then that’s what I call it

Only time its not a sandwich is when you put chips as the filling. That then becomes a chip butty

I see any filling 'sandwiched' between 2 slices of any bread based product, as a sandwich.

All the poncy names for them are just excuses for deli's, cafes, etc, to stick an extra £3 on the price you pay.

Like i said only time i will not call it a sandwich is when i put chips as the filling. But agree with the takeaway places putting on extra charges for the unique names. But a shop in wednesbury does lovely sandwiches, rolls, baguettes or baps

It’s all bread, the filling makes it a butty.

You don’t have an egg mayonnaise butty but you do have a chip and / or a fish finger one

Central

A sandwich is 2 (possibly more) slices of bread, with a filling and also the generic term for bread product with a filling, hence people visiting the sandwich shop, to get a bacon roll etc.
