Continue here, it is fun to see what we all are doing and what routine you do, it is a new week, who is going today? I am having a rest day so I am keeping the carbs low at around 150g but still I have the calories at 3000. I cant wait to tomorrow where I can have 350g carbs

Don't go to the gym, but I've smart turbo trainer in the garage.

Did a virtual climb up Sa Calobra in Majorca this evening, average power output of 216W which is 3.6W/kg.

Hopefully, after this weekend I can utilise the lighter evenings & start putting the miles in on the road bike.

Aiming for 100+miles a week.

Me

Today I did my version of a plank on a box (keeps the pressure off my wrists), lunged with the help of the hanging handles, went for a mile walk on the treadmill, chest pressed with 14kg hand weights, leg pressed 200kg, did the abductor machine at 60kg, did the assisted chin dip and did a pole press with a 5kg weight on.

Last week I managed to run for a whole minute from a building to the car, couldn't breathe terribly well for a minute but I did it!

My hospital Physio dept has now recommended Aqua Fitness, Aquarobics or similar, to assist in trying to achieve weight loss, but without impacting heavily on the joints, esp my knees.

Anyone else heard of this option?

I am going today, are you? I will do a full body workout with 10 exercises. I will concentrate on my back with 3 exercises. I like doing the lat pull down machine where you dont have a bar, instead you use one arm pulling the weight down, you pull down the weight at the same time with both hands, but separate. I can lift a lot more weight with this one than with the bar and I like this variation better

I'm on 100 g per day That is good, do you also do carb cycling?"

Indeed I do but rarely go over 200 g or under 50

I like to run my glycogen tank half full, bearing in mind average total carb content of full glycogen is about 500g carb

I find my body uses just 100 ish g of carb a day the rest is mainly fat use as I'm fat adapted

After 5 days , sooner if I feel I need I will top up the glycogen to about 80%

Once twice a month a do a total depletion followed by an 80 90 percent refill ,

However my superfood advice of the moment is fish oil x

I've just done The Sickener..(my own creation - horrid enough to deserve a title with capital letters!)

Suicide shuttles on the astroturf pitch. Start at one end, sprint to the 1/4 then back, 1/2 then back etc. All the way out to the end. Then reverse it. That's one set. (14 shuttles in total). On the first set do 10 squats at every turn. On the second set, 10 press ups, on the third, 30 sec plank, then on the 4th normal shuttles. There is a big lorry tyre on the side of the pitch so tyre flips the length of the pitch between sets. After the 4th set alternate sets of chin ups and dips to failure.

All while wearing a 20kg rucksack.

I can barely stand up.

Yeah. I dislocated one of my floating ribs in September 2017, 150kg stone lifting did it and also got a minor tear in my IT band around the same time. 8 months to recover and only started lifting lightly in May last year and building my strength back up. Not fun.

Ouch! I had five months completely off the gym, still rehabilitating over a year later, likely to never fully recover. Although weirdly it's helped me discover how much I like the gym. When it's not leaving me dreading the bathroom!

I'm off to the gym tonight. My usual weekly routine is swim Monday, aqua fit Tuesday, Jujitsu Wednesday, day off Thursday (I'll go for a walk if the weather's nice) and gym Friday.

Currently procrastinating though as I'm still sore from Wednesday!

Intense strength training at around 90/95% of my max for 5 reps...

Focusing on key compound movements then finishing up with assistance movements

Camberley occasionally doncaster

Some good workouts on here.

Yesterday daytime was back

6 rounds of:

trap bar deadlifts 5 @120kg

10 good mornings @40kg

Wide grip chin ups (strict) to failure (normally 8-10 reps)

T bar rows @ 70kg

Finished off with 2 x drop sets wide grip lat pulldowns, then 2 x drop sets narrow grip.

Managed a second workout last night (have a small gym at work)

Worked up to 3 x 3 @100kg flat bench. Then burnouts @60kg

Superset that with wide grip chin ups to failure then drop set dumbbell curls. (About 10 rounds in total)

4 superset of

40kg incline dumbbell press x 8

24kg incline dumbbell flyes x8

Today was legs

8 x 5 half speed box squats (4 sec up/down) @80kg

Run 1km @10kph

Leg press 20@250kg

Toe press 20@250kg

Drop set leg extension

Drop set thigh curl

Run 1km @12kph

Repeat superset

Run 1km @14kph

Walk funny.

Good luck fella. I use a PT and I love the results. I’ve lost about 3 stone and look and feel so much better. I hate him during the sessions but keep going back for more though, he’s a good guy and pushes me which is what I need.

Keep it up, you’ve made the right decision.

Muscle toning is generally a myth

One can

Make muscles bigger

Reduce fat

Both give the muscle a more defined shape that is called tone

Swimming is a fantastic exercise and to my mind should be used in all health , fitness programs

However , although a very good fat burner it is neither the best fat burner nor best muscle burner , a gym used correctly would achieve, greater muscle accumulation or better fat reduction than swimming x

Full body work out this lunch
