I prefer men to have natural pubic hair, rather than shaved. It may be helped, by an occasional trim and I assume that some men must have unusually large levels of hair, compared to the average guy, so may need to trim more frequently etc.

I think men look so much better with pubes, even if you're not thinking of ideal hair length for meets.
