All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

After 5 years of living and working throughout the UK i'm amazed at how much variety there can be between regions, each with their particular charms.

Post on the thread and say where you're originally from and why it's a place anyone would like to visit or even live. Let's focus on the positive with this one.

Beach, mountain, Forest, River, lake all on my doorstep and I love living here and never grow tired of the natural beauty. I particularly love spring, everything about to open and lambs everywhere.

I live in a small, unremarkable town near Preston! According to my future Son in law, though, it’s officially the most desirable place to live in the country when things such as house prices, amenities and exceptionally low crime rate etc are taken into consideration!

It’s also, as I discovered when I started swinging - dirty bastard central!

Within an hour’s drive I can get to at least a dozen swinging clubs and hotels/venues!

No wonder I’m a happy little fecker is it?

My town gets a lot of bad press and people often look down their noses when you mention it.

However I think it’s brilliant. We have every form of entertainment you could wish for in a small town. It isn’t expensive to live. We get some really amazing touring shows. Tim Burton made a film here, in fact loads of TV and film have been made here. In the evening when the sun is setting the beach is the a wonderful place to be. We have the illuminations which in itself is a bonkers idea but it works. A fireworks festival, a circus based festival, a festival devoted to street art and many amazing works of art on the sides of random buildings. The people are in the main bloody wonderful and it’s swinger central. It would take something or someone exceedingly special to make me move away.

Where I grew up is a tiny village called farningham, which was just down the road from brands hatch, I remember the days when the Grand Prix would be there and seeing the traffic that used to pass through was amazing! I loved that little village with it’s one shop and three pubs! Mum and dad still live there so always brings back nice memories.

Where we live now, it’s literally in the middle of the sticks yet the town isn’t far away, I’m used to the quiet after living in Edenbridge, so this is my normal, doughnut found it a little harder after living in Harlow all his life but even he loves it now, all the wildlife is just lovely, seeing deer first thing in the morning etc.

Northampton Somewhere

Smack bang in the middle of England isn't a bad place to be, I know my kids are never going to be a million miles away!

There is some lovely countryside in the area, shoes and Alan Carr is from Northampton.

That's all I've got!!!

"Derbyshire....rolling countryside and dramatic scenery...so beautiful..takes your breath away. "

True! I can vouch for that, but the Scottish Highlands are majestic. I could live there.

As a Utd fan and having many roots/connections to Manchester I know it really well. Giving a shout out as an addition to them because the place ain't a bad area you know. I am looking forward to exploring it further soon and down the line on a few occasions this year so big up to the Mancunians

Hiding in the shadows

I grew up in Derbyshire, the peaks, the green fields, the dales.

Truly beautiful countryside.

But I always wanted to live on the beach, be near the sea.

I've moved all over the place, but ended up here 21yrs ago & knew I'd finally found my happy place.

I have my beach, the sea. Behind me the South Downs, rolling hills & fields.

It's a quiet little village, great community spirit, a place to raise a family.

Brighton is only 15 minutes away, London an hour.

Life is good here

We aren’t in a corner but our little piece of the countryside is stunning, river, fields, trees and we help feed the nation so it has to be good.

Pretty much sums it up for us too!
