Mine keep rejecting. Tried 3 times now One rises to the surface after 4-6 weeks and the other refuses to heal.

A friend on here suggested I tried being pierced with titanium jewellery incase my body doesn't like surgical steel.

Has anyone else had problems with theirs piercings? X

Hefty Hideaway

I had both nipples pierced about 15 years ago. One never healed and just was a nightmare. The other never gave me any trouble. I think it’s worth trying the titanium jewellery. Good luck!

I've not had any problems with my nipples really, though they took much longer to heal than any other piercing I've had. As in, they were still weeping every so often up to a year later (definitely not infected or anything).

I've always had titanium jewellery but nonetheless I've had a microdermal on my collar bone reject twice now with the foot soon working its way back out each time, so I've given up on it even though I really liked it there.

Yep same number of times with the nipple piercings. I gave up in the end.

Get the initial piecing done with a ptfe bar, the light weight of it and non stick nature will allow it to heal better without it migrating. Once the scar tissue tube inside has healed correctly swap it out for a normal stainless bar or a loghter titanium one.

I tried Titanium after my right nipple wouldn’t heal, the left was fine. Titanium did work.

Metal allergy is a common reason for problems with piercings. Trying titanium or niobium could definitely help.

There are other factors - cleaning - lack of or over cleaning is one.

Did you get them pierced with bars or rings? (bars more likely to heal)

I practice the LITHA method - Leave It The Hell Alone until it is healed.

Also, if you do go for them again, check out the body jewellery shop forum - lots of people with experience there that will guide you right through the whole thing.

I had both mine done around 15 years ago along with my eyebrow. All 3 grow out within 3 months.

Around a year later had them all done again and had no problems for a few years.

One of my nipples started swelling so I took it out and within 6 months I caught the other on a door frame and ripped out. ( yeah my nipple was hanging down )

I need to get to a tattooist and get them done again.

Had both of mine pierced in October last year, titanium bars are meant to be the easiest with healing, etc. Mine are healing just they take time.

The fear of what?

I had it done previously about 20 years ago but removed it. Had another dermal on my collarbone too!

Catching it! Not so much the piercing itself.

I like the dermals
