Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Is anyone else watching this series?

It's black, it's queer, it's 80s music, it's got sass and heart. I loved the first episode.

Yes I saw the first one the other night and thought it was brilliant. I had no idea about those houses and house mothers or the balls. I’m recording the series to watch at my leisure.

BBC2 on Thursdays at 9pm.

I'd really recommend it.

I knew about the Balls (or thought I did) but I didn't appreciate how serious the house structure was and the role of the mothers.

The Balls were from a Latino/Latin American scene, dressing up and strutting your stuff against a defined theme. The 'houses' compete against each other.

I've just read this review in The Guardian:

Bumping this on the back of the Fleabag recommendation.

It's on tonight but well worth getting on catch-up.
