Are interviews with players just after a match (any sport) one of the most useless things ever?

Always a lesson in stating the bleeding obvious!

Brighton - even Hove!

I wondered once what football players say to each other and decided it was ‘get the ball into the back of their net and don’t let it go in ours’ more or less.

Kent

"Julio Geordio 3 games for Newcastle and 3 goals, you've just come out of the shower and you smell nice, no wonder you're the toast of Tyneside

Manchester (he/him)

There's a special tense of speaking used by sportspeople Post match; the present past tense.

"I've got the ball and I take it past him, dodging a tackle now and pass it into the goal. As you can see, I'm delighted there."

NW London

Sometimes they can be pretty good. Tony Thomson (boxing) did a classic just after beating David Price for the second time.

In the middle

They all seem to have learnt a lesson that will help them going forward

The interviews that always make me smile are the athletics when they have run a mile in 3 seconds and try to interview straight away, the poor runner can hardly get a breath and they want answers out of them right now
