You know the old puzzle right?

Compendiously, a farmer requires to transport all three of the above across a river by boat but can only take one at a time.

However, he/she must simultaneously be mindful in that he/she can not at any point leave the fox with the chicken or the chicken with the corn as one will respectively consume the other.

So folks.....solve the problem by all means and I’ll award extra special bonus points and a half eaten and now very cold chicken and mushroom Pot Noodle to whoever can provide the most novel/ingenious and/or humorous, alternative solutions.

Chicken first come back for the fox, drop the fox off and bring the chicken back and leave it when you take the corn over to where the fox is and come back for the chicken.

Take the chicken over

Go back and get the fox, take the fox over but bring the chicken back.

Drop the the chicken off and pick up the corn. Take the corn over.

Go back get chicken job done.

It's easy

Wait for Brexit and the import tariffs the other side will be so high there's no point t crossing in the first place

Become a subsistence farmer as a result and use the fox to make sure no foreign animals invade your farm

Alternatively: The farmer takes the corn over in the boat then orders a military air strike to separate the fox and the chicken behind them before going back across, grabbing the chicken and taking it to the corn. Once again, a second air strike to keep the chicken from the corn on the bank and the farmer can safely grab the fox and take it over to finish. Job done and with minimal fuss thanks to the redoubtable efforts of our fine RAF

Move up bank to a stretch of the river that is under the control of one of those tinpot countries that see nothing untoward in droves of it's inhabitants leaving for a better life on a regular basis, usually packed 3 dozen into a small rubber dinghy or such like.

Now that the normal seating regulations no longer apply, stuff all 3 of the buggers into the boat by hook or by crook, using a shoehorn if necessary and cross by the skin of your teeth with the boat looking like it's going to capsize at any minute.

He takes the chicken across first, then crosses back to where the fox and the corn are.

He takes the corn across and brings the chicken back with him on the return journey.

Then, he drops off the chicken and picks up the fox, which he leaves on the opposite bank with the corn whilst he returns to collect the chicken
