No need for hate or rudeness at all. Racism absolutely not. My post on racism attracted some ignorant replies I thought. To say it's ok to say no blacks etc and that it equates with simple non preference (eg not wanting a slim person) is nuts. No blacks means no one of any African blood at all. Really? You wouldn't sleep with one of maybe a billion people at all? Maybe you wouldn't but it's not good to see you state that fact.

You possibly need to define where you want this thread to go. Are you talking general racism, or racism/preference in a sexual sense.? The former might be an interesting conversation, the latter done recently!

Now ... to state a preference is fine ... if it said no black guys cos they all stink etc. ... that is a completely different matter

Sadly there is a fine line between what people think is preference and racism ...

To take your comment of 1 in a billion ... if you do say not fat people ... that alienates a large proportion of the world population... if you say no once under 6 feet ... that's a lot of people of far east and Asian heritage ...

Preference is fine ... defamatory statements is not

There's the out and out racism and the subtle too. I find the blatant ones easier to deal with. I find there's a lot of subtle racism on fab too. It tends to come out towards non-white men, aside from the constant exotification of both genders. There's no excuse.

Hiding in the shadows

There is no place anywhere for racism.

I've blocked people out of my life completely for making certain remarks. It's something I can't abide.

If I don't like someone it's because they're a twunt, and nothing to do with the colour of their skin

Actually I have not seen any racism on here ? I have seen people say they want a BBC - is that what you mean?

I have also seen people saying "looking for a BWC boyfriend for my wife"

But to me these are preferences as to what turns them on. Racism is bad but preferences are ok with me.

There’s only one race. The human race.

Racism, bigotry I thought would be finished by 21st century...my parents and in laws were racist without knowing it...

My son with me watching a boxing event on tv...I said who would you want to win? He said one in red shorts...one boxer black other white. I thought that was where we were headed, not seeing a difference.

Very good point I’ve said on a thread yesterday there is a fine line. But also could be a number of factors up bringing. people we encounter. Me as a example I have a very very low chance in here just because I am Asian that I have quickly realised. But to really to rate which is a very fine line

Ok, what about a white man and a black woman that are a couple, they only go for people the complete opposite of their partners because that's how they want to swing. Total escapism and the opposite of their real lives.

If they state no white men/no black women does that make them racist?

It's a fantasy based on skin colour so yes. I think people get tied up in knots because to be racist is to be overtly bad, uneducated etc. You can still be a 'good' person and be racist.

"its like saying everyone has to be bi cos if they only meet men or women its sexest i think thats there point and a very good one"

No, it's not a good point at all.

Being hetero or homosexual are scientifically studied, proven sexual orientations.

There's no such thing as being a 'caucasionsexual'

Being attracted more to one type of look than another is no big deal. Deciding there is no way you could find a person from a particular race attractive, ever, is frankly weird.

It's saying you could meet someone who's a model by profession, with your perfect body type, who is charming and makes you laugh, who has loads in common with you, but you'd turn them down because of the colour of their skin. And some people would still want to say there can be no question of racism being involved.

I do not follow..its like saying everyone has to be bi cos if they only meet men or women its sexest i think thats there point and a very good one

No. Statements of racial exclusion are racist . so if i say no men allowed is that ok then or is it only not ok to choose sexual partners by race

Sexual orientation is not to be confused with racism.

Not confusing it its a very similar issue theres actually a statement on 101 stating if you have been attacked for you race sexual or orientation please tell us so it seems the police define race crime and sexual orientation exactly the same "

When attacked. Not as advertised for sleeping with.

"A person should be judged on their merits and faults and not by the colour of their skin. End of. "

Wonderful and correct in the workplace etc, but sexual attraction is another thing entirely.

Thankfully, we don't have to adhere to diversity monitoring when it comes to sexual partners...yet!

"Actually I have not seen any racism on here ? I have seen people say they want a BBC - is that what you mean?

I have also seen people saying "looking for a BWC boyfriend for my wife"

But to me these are preferences as to what turns them on. Racism is bad but preferences are ok with me. "

There is racism on Fab. Sometimes it's "subtle", but it's there.

"In my opinion since brexit, a lot more people have felt it’s okay to come out and be brave about being racist. Faced a number of racist slurs, which weren’t happening before brexit."

I'm first generation Windrush. Since brexit I've felt like I've woken up in the 60s again. (Some) White people have become emboldened to scrape of their veneer of racial tolerance and show their true colours.

"I'm shocked at this turn of events..." said no black person.

Racism will exist and it gets worse when you're on social media or on here. People feel like they can say anything and get away with it because they're behind a keyboard and nothing will happen. Take it with a pinch of salt and ignore it

Preference is thrown around a lot here. For people who use that word, take a moment to ask yourself why?

You don’t have to voice it here or explain to anyone, just rationalise to yourself why you have your preference?

But why a preference based on race? Black or Asian people are no way all alike? To say they are is racist. To say it's not implies another reason to not like them. What?its my personal choise not to have sex with asian women i generally dont fancy them the end not racest not to fancy someone

You don't fancy any woman whose heritage was Turkey to Japan? Kim Kardashian is of Armenian heritage. That's in Asia. i know funny that shes not my bag either

No she is Kanye's!

No woman from Thailand?

None from Japan?

is it so hard to believe not as of yet anyway

ah, but you're putting words in my mouth. I've never turned anyone down because of the colour of their skin. I base my choices on whether I find an individual attractive or not...

What I am saying is that you are entirely entitled to being equally accepted anywhere as is anyone else. What you are not entitled to is sex.

But it seems that it does, hence threads like this. A thinly veiled preference equals racist post.

Yes, it's fine to have your own personal preferences. Just as long as your preferences don't exclude anyone on the planet. Absolutely no-one. Because if they do, in the eyes of some, your preferences instantly become racism.

It's reflective of someone who is lacking in respect and empathy for others - it just sadly is aimed at people of a different race (this time). But they would be unworthy of trust, as they may drop their respect or empathy for you next.

It's not a mature and adult perspective to take - it's just based on a decision someone took, when they had a choice not to. People who hold prejudiced, bigoted disrespect for others aren't people I enjoy being around

It was based on skin/skeletal/muscle difference observed in groups of people. It was rudimentary and people expected that branch of science to be done away with eventually.

However the situation has gotten worse, as now we are certain that white people at the very least are a hybrid human mix, and we can not rule out but do not believe it to be so, may be a different sub group of human.

Black africans are pure humans, according to how we view the data now.

So it will never end.

There's having a preference and how you articulate that preference.

People are not always attracted to everybody as casual sexual partners. If you (for whatever reason) only find people that closely resemble your own genetic stock attractive, so be it. The reasons may or may not be racist.

But if you explain in a way that is construed as racist, that is where the trouble start.

Not to do with race, but I saw a profile that stated "no oompah loompahs ta, only people who take pride in themselves".

I've also seen profiles stating "I love bbws, real women, no skinny minnie or rakes please, jog on".

I would avoid both profiles as I prefer to meet people with the ability to express a preference without insulting those they're not interested in.

That said, I think some people get offended regardless of how it's worded because it excludes them.

You were lucky to have such a supportive parents. Mine thought white people knew best and their life ambitions were humble: work and own their own home.

My sisters and I wanted more. We did well at school, getting good cse's but when I applied for jobs I was told I needed O levels, so I went and got them to be told I needed A levels. No problem, got A levels to be told I needed a degree...okie dokie I go and get a degree. Try again, ah, you're a mum, already have one mum can't employ two as you'll be off with a sick kid.

I'm far too stubborn to give up and obstacles put I my way just strengthened my resolve.

I eventually got a job that enabled me to grow and be fulfilled.

When I sat in meetings with members of the royal family, politicians etc I used to smile to myself and thank those who inadvertently help me reach my goals.

I did feel sad when my dad visited my home for the first time and said "I never thought coloured could own a house like this!" He said that in 2002...I don't live in a Georgian coach house in Berkshire but a semi in south London.

Son you can’t change the fact that you’re black... but the only way you can ever accomplish anything in life is to be the best. If you’re are the number 1 brain surgeon in the world and a racist person needs brain surgery... they will ask for the best brain surgeon not the best white brain surgeon... work twice or three times as hard as everyone else and never use your color as a excuse to fail....

Remember a white man will never steal your alarm clock...

Repeat this to yourself every time you feel your color is holding you back....

Btw... I have 3 degrees , sit on the board of 2 publicly traded (fortune 500)companies, and I’m BLACK...

Isn't that one of the best ways of dealing with any form of bigotry, not letting be or seeing yourself as a victim.

Sheesh you want to see what its like being a white middle(ish) class male! (said with tongue firmly in cheek)

"

I have never understood racism. This will sound cheesy but I don't see colour, i see personalities. When it comes to physical attraction people might hsve a preference for white people, just as spme have a preference for Jack or mixed race people. If i don't someone attractive, i find them attractive and colour has nothing to do with it. Colour doesn't dictate your personslity.

It boggles me that racism still exists in 2019, but sadly I think it always will to some extent

I concur

It will exist. What I’ve also experienced overseas is how people pronounce their thoughts and feelings towards it. A lot of people are good at sugar coating it or sharing a subtle opinion that makes them look like they’re not until you begin to ask certain questions or share thoughts. You then see traits of their true being.

Is it sad? It is what it is.

Of course, until a certain extent if someone is overly reacting about it. Something should be said.

What we found that people are not racists, it's more about keeping company of like minded people. Every society has a certain way of talking, behaving or dealing with everyday situations. They have a their own lifestyle and approach towards things. They also look differently towards other cultures with their pre concieved thoughts ,they may have acquired from reading ,watching movies or visiting them countries.

That means if someone doesn't like others then it's the no because of their colour but because of all these things they already have about them in their mind .

We call it ignorance or prejudice (harsh)

And such things happen all around the world between different cultures.

The person who is affluent can use his power to discriminate others, what we call it as racism.

Imagine ,even in 2019 I been asked by my colleagues at work about how I cook my curry.

It's not racist but it's sheer ignorance that they never went and found out how a curry is made using authentic spices which are available in many Asian shops in the UK.

There are videos on YouTube in all languages .

It's very trivial but the world can be really a better place if we try to learn more about it.

It's how you define "like minded people".

I see more of my white, African etc friends than I do of my family members as I have nothing in common with them. My cousin for example, 61 years old, born in Tooting, lives in Clapham, high school education, four kids, three fathers has never seen the Thames, let alone the sea. Blood relatives: her mum, my dad brother and sister: we have nothing in common.

For me, skin tone is a major factor in finding someone attractive

The darker the skin, the less likely I am to find them sexually attractive

An example would be two famous black guys

Idris Elba - does nothing for me at all

Trevor Noah - so incredibly sexy

Does that make me racist ?

I don't think so, but if it fits someones agenda to think so then so be it. I am not an apologist for something I have no control over.

Yes I agree with you and understand what you mean. I don't exclude the race of people as some people within each race have similar features, but all people from a race don't have all the same features. I am attracted to a persons features, skin tone/colour in all races.

I have had men who have been interested in me who have previously thought from appearance that I am Asian, South American and Mediterranean. I am mixed race and I am neither of them ethnicities, so people have an attraction or no attraction to certain features within any race of people.

"There's having a preference and how you articulate that preference.

People are not always attracted to everybody as casual sexual partners. If you (for whatever reason) only find people that closely resemble your own genetic stock attractive, so be it. The reasons may or may not be racist.

But if you explain in a way that is construed as racist, that is where the trouble start.

So now we have to express our preferences in a way other people would like?"

Common sense / common decency would suggest that if there is a polite way to do things or a cuntish way to do things, go with the polite way.

I don't meet couples as I don't feel confortable within the dynamic is a better than saying I'm not just a stunt cock for your entertainment.

I grew up in London and went to a multi cultural school with friends to match, and even now and who will hopefully remain my VERY best friend is Portuguese. The way I roll is, if we get on it doesn't matter what colour / nationality / gender you are then poss friends for life. But if you fuck me over, you're history. Shame a topic like racism is joked about in this thread. Referencing an entire race as ‘one’ or ‘them’

The problem is people see a colour before they see the person. I never focus on someones colour i see the person first. But so many people have been brought up to label people as a certain colour it becomes difficult for some to see the person within.

I have preferences but theres no reason i need to block or be rude to an entire race or body type. I find the person attractive & dont focus on anything else.

We feel that the worst type is assumed racism. For example, you may reject someone's advances on here because they're too far away, too old for you, too young for you, you don't find them attractive etc. But the person being declined tells you that you're obviously racist or you wouldn't have said no.

That is so true but most peoples eyes are open but they still cannot see

I’m sorry but all I’m seeing is someone who’s life/swinging hasn’t turned out how they hoped, and the race card is a handy reason rather than admit they could have done more to rectify the situation. You need to prove that you’re as good as anyone else, but while you’re holding out that you’re being held back by your race, you will never be held on an even footing.

If you want to eradicate racism, you start by never mentioning it. No don’t blame the world for holding you back, you’ve done that yourself by quitting and blaming others.

I served for 16 years in the forces along side people from all races and religions. The person fighting beside me wasn’t black, wasn’t Muslim but a brother in arms.

But everyone and I mean everyone has the idea what a perfect partner is. And the fact they are seeking that and not just sleeping with anyone isn’t not something to be attacked. Personally we want to meet people very similar to us with similar backgrounds and similar lifestyles as adults. But most importantly we want to meet people that what we find most attractive. We have an idea of our perfect meet and we will actively seek it.

I have seen profiles by white women or white couples saying bbc only, so are these white people being racist by excluding everyone of their own race?

I was called damaged goods last week by someone as I have a black fab friend. I understand from his status he had been kicked off the forums for similar comments. That is racist, knowing who you want to play with and who you don’t is preference, just better expressed with tact.

"I have seen profiles by white women or white couples saying bbc only, so are these white people being racist by excluding everyone of their own race?"

No because a lot of the women have white husbands or partners. There has been a thread on it.

On any case you can't have it both ways. Using your example all the white women who say "no blacks" are racist. Also then where do you put the black women who have white husbands but don't meet blacks (which is a more accurate comparator).

Unless you want to get into the psychology of choices (as I believe the reasons why white women choose black guys are different and not equivalent to the reasons why white women choose only white guys) it is best in terms of swinging to leave it as a matter of preference, and move on to arguing about Brexit!
