The other one was getting rather long well done ladies and gents keep up with the fab work

Here is a recipe for Fanta sweet and sour chicken or pork. Tastes scrummy.

Sweet & Sour Fanta pork (You can do this with Chicken too)

Cook off the pork strips

Add large chunks of onion till they start to soften

Add a can (330ml) diet fanta (or any other syn free diet fizzy orange drink)

3tbs passata

a veggie oxo cube

a tsp vinegar

a shake of dried chilli flakes. How much chilli depends how zingy you like your food.

Add some peppers cut chunky

Let it bubble away for around 20-30 minutes until it starts to thicken up

At the last minute add some fresh pineapple chunks (free), or tinned and count syns.

*** Don’t keep cooking it tho or you will have to syn your fresh pineapple ***

Serve with rice or cooked dried egg noodles

i've lost over 4 stone on SW (but some back on but it will come off again!) and my brother has lost 5 1/2 stone. so much better cooking curries from passata and spices as free rather than using the tins/packets.

keep up the good work xx

oh lost another 2lb this week which im thrilled about.

Being totally honest i've not 100% committed to it as much as i could have. Left super free's out and not done half as much exercise but i'm not in denial over this and honest with my eating habits. Writing down the rubbish i eat helps too.

Just done the weekly shop and only bought veg, fruit and billions of salad stuff.

11 1/2 lb lost in 4 weeks in happy with that :D

Right, well i stayed the same this week. Im quite happy as my stomach started bloating up again last night. Im doing super express this week. Im really positive as at the end of the month its groups biggest loser, i know ive won but i want to get the 3lb off to make it 8stone by then. Plus its my birthday the week after so it will be nice for that as well. Im not beating myself up anymore cause ive done lots of research on weight and the menapause this week and im not using it as an excuse but it is very hard for women to loose weight going through the menapause, i also found out the diabetic tablet i was on helps control weight and as im not taking that anymore that could be another reason its slowed down. So ive gone back to basic thinking that as long as i keep chip chipping away at it im happy. Plus ive still set my target to be the fittest ive ever been at 50(still three years to go) plus i got my wii fit working again(would have helped if id changed the batteries in the control lol)

gaine 3lb, this week its really upset me, cant deal with gaining for no reason this week and ive just come home and bawled my eyes out. I just feel that every bloody week, i do everything right and my bloody body decideds to work against me. This week i feel like its a loosing battle as it means im just under the 8stone mark. I find it hard to go backwards. I did only have 4 cereal bars (2b's) when i came home so know damage. I won biggest looser this week but i feel a fake, its only about the third time in 16 months that i feel disheartened. Im so positive 99.9% of the time but this week i just dont feel like that now.

Sorry to be so negative but ive just come home from class and havent talked to anyone yet as i will just burst into tears. Sometimes its a heavy burden being peoples inspiration.

Think i will just have a good cry and get it out my system

STOP! don't cry ..... I need help!

I don't have scales so weighed myself at my daughters flat on Sunday, now I knew I'd put on weight as all my dresses I tried on on Friday for the Saturday social were too small. I just couldn't do them up.

I was shocked to see my weight has crept up by a stone and a half, usually I never put on weight.

So dear Diamond, help me lose some and get back into my clothes ...... do me a diet sheet..... staple my lips together ..... put me in a gimp mask at meal times ...... help!

awww diamond chin up treacle ya done so amazingly just think of it percentage wise as to what you have lost so far it would be so miniscule its not even worth thinking about so upwards ond onwards you know ya can do it

i've fallen so far off the wagon and its now almost right out of sight so i'm trying to find a reason to run and catch it back up and clamber back on it so i'm back off to SW tomorrow night to see just how much damage i've managed to do, my problem is i'm perfectly happy where i have got to now so i'm struggling to make myself carry on but i'm in danger of popping it back on if i don't get it back under control, whoops

Im really happy now, cause although im not loosing weight the inches are still coming off, my new underwear arrived today and ive been 42d for quite awhile only actually loosing 2in of my bra back as i was 44" when i started. I ordered 42 and 40 and the 40ds fit and on the last hooks so finally my fat back syndrome is disappearing, i so long to be 38" back cause thats the size all the normal bra and knicker ranges go up to without having plus sizes

I just realised I forgot to put my weigh in on yesterday.

Well as I had a bad day or two I think 3lb off shows the commitment I put it on the other days..

To be fair I am working really hard on the exercise side. The fact I wasn't starting a diet but just re signing up makes me happy at 5 1/2 lb in two weeks... Want to make it to 7lb in 3 weeks..

Not even hungry ever which is best bit.

If your happy now, do you want to continue or would you be happier maintaining what youve lost. I had a long chat to my mum about this yesterday as most people she knows are telling her i dont need to loose anymore. Im perfectly happy, health issuses are sorted. I said i wanted to be a comfy size 16 which i am. But i want to keep going but cant work out why as ive achieved all i set out to do do. Maybe its now a vanity thing with me which it never started out as, or the fact that getting smaller is becoming addictive.

Firstly, dont worry about time scales. Look what you have achieved to date. Secondaly, maintaining for a year sounds a great idea (ive had this suggested to me). As you know its not following the eating plan its being in the mind set. You either need to get in the right mindset, or give yourself a break until your ready to recommit, otherwise you will just be beating yourself up, then comfort eating and it will become a vicious circle. I had my first blip ever three weeks ago, but it gave me the kick up the arse i needed thats for sure

My new goal is to be overweight, may sound negative to some, but my bmi was 54 when i started and its now 32. Anything between 26-30 is classed as overweight. So i will have gone from morbidly obese, clinically obese, obese to overweight lol. Must be the only person alive that will be happy to be told they are overweight lol

to be fair though while your size 16 its a good attitude to have, you might be in the best shape you been for a long time, but they are alot of health benifits to dropping another size or two, plus if you say ok im happy now then you still have to put the work into maintaining it as if you eat how you used to eat, you will probally start to weigh what you used to weigh.

but if you are set on maintaining do what i do and have a warning weight and weigh at least every week and if you get close to that weight or hit it then go back to trying hard again.

when maintaining i normally have a 1 stone band that i aim to stay in, it was 14-15stone for me and if hit 15 time to do something about it as you never want to waste it and go back if you can help it.

of course other things can come into play like your metabolism etc , but just did a quick google to make sure i wasnt just plucking the figures from thin air

"

Dear Alice,

How many calories does it take to lose one pound?

—Countin' Cal

Dear Countin' Cal ,

Theoretically, about 3500 calories equals one pound of body weight. This means that you'd have to take in 3500 fewer calories than you usually do, over a period of time, to lose one pound. Keep in mind, this is in theory; what happens in the real world can be very different.

Often, as we eat less, our bodies expend calories at a slower rate (that is, our metabolism decreases). Perhaps this occurs to ensure our survival, or just to defend a comfortable body weight. In any event, this slowdown is a real phenomenon, and has been shown in many laboratory studies — it's called diet induced adaptive thermogenesis. If your calorie expenditure falls, it can be increasingly difficult to take in few enough calories to lose weight. This can be quite a frustration and challenge to the person trying to shed some pounds.

So, while it's nice to have an equation that works in the lab, the 3500-calorie figure may not play out so tidily in reality. However, it can serve as a goal if you are trying to lose weight. By cutting 500 calories a day (a total of 3500 per week), and otherwise eating a balanced diet, you may find you lose approximately a pound a week. This rate of weight loss is considered reasonable and healthy.

While simple math might suggest that one could cut thousands of calories per day and shed pounds in the blink of any eye, more realistic and lasting weight change happens gradually. Skipping meals can actually have a negative impact on weight management. To keep your metabolism speeding along, consider having 4 or 5 smaller meals and snacks throughout the day. In addition to providing consistent energy and maintaining your metabolism, you may be more likely to resist those "snack attacks" that happen with extreme hunger. Finally, an important factor in keeping your metabolism moving is participating in regular exercise, which is good for you regardless of whether you're trying to lose weight or just curious about calories.

"

This question cant really be answered as easily as saying 3500 Kcals in a pound of fat. It depends on what kind of fat you are talking about. Fat from food is 9 Kcals per gram. So it would be 453.59237x9=4082.33133 now if you are talking about how much energy is required to burn off one lbs of body fat, that would be more around 3500 Kcals per pound but that is also based on the idea that all you are burning is fat. Most people burn muscle, fat, and other tissue during weight lose.

theres another thing i looked up

your metabolism takes a bigger part in it, its how body builders who eat thousands and thousands / stupid amounts of calories every day can stay ripped because of how regulary they eat to max out their metabolism (thats why they say 6 times a day is best) also excersize always boosts it, as well as any muscle you have boost it too

sounds technical and geeky

im just glad im shifting the pounds slowly.. 1 lb a week is 52lb a year is still a lot to shift

I'll get there in my own time. want it to have a lasting effect not to loose it all then pile it back on because i drink some alcohol or have a curry

Ive long given up how your metobolism works. My weight has slowed down dramatically due to hormones. Now im not on a calorie based diet but i do know i dont go above 1500 calories a day. I do the same thing week in week out yet ican gain 3lb some weeks. Apart from the last couple of weeks ive been lucky to average 1/2lb a week.

do you ever eat after 6pm before weight days? that will easily add around 4llbs to your body weight, and eating before your weigh in as well will do the same,

i always weight on a morning, naked and after a poop for best results, and if i not eaten after 6pm you got most chance of being your actual weight!

if ya eat 6 times a day then its a good way to keep ya metaolbislm as high as you can without excersixe

A few as i know they are very few health trust funds that will refer you to slimming world, not sure if you get it for free or at a concession rate. So it might be worth having a word with your doctor just on the off chance that your health trust fund does do it. I personally only know of one in the whole of the midlands. But they are in existance

haha yeah! but if you got food in you waiting to come out then its masking your true weight isnt it!

i just said best way to find out what you really weigh deep down if you want to haha and its obv a bit of a joke too, but i do make sure i poop before i weigh myself every morning its just the way i roll! HAHA

and extra pound or two off the scales weight can be a good boost in all honesty for your confidence for moving forward,

as every time you go on the scales and get a positive result your more likely to keep up the good work!

but yeah you cant just have a poo and go ok ive lost 2 pounds this week and not diet or anything lmao when its all shit haha, but sometimes you have good weeks and wonder why it says you put on a few pounds when half the time that can simply be down to when you last eaten and if you got anything still in you that should really come out!

maybe im a bit daft but only really class my proper weight when i weigh myself daily when ive not eaten past 6 and know everythings out my system. thats the weight i track the most when monitoring my progress. things have done me well ive gone from over 25 stone and into the 14 stones, was bang on 14 stone 1 pound before , but since i got my car had been generally maintaining 14-15 stone, but now im back on my diet trying to get down to something more like 13-14 or 12-13 as my maintenance weight!

if you look about the net i bet they alot of stuff on their for free where websites pretty much detail the diet and syn out most things for you and give good recomendations.

it just depends if you got the will power to do it yourself, going along to the meetings creates a peer pressure there for you, something you have to look foward to or pressure there that you know your getting weighed with everyone else and if you put it on you know its not good.

where some people cant do it off their own back and might weigh them selves and put weight on a few weeks in a row and give up, where places like that give you the support.

but im quite the same, i could never do a personal trainer or goto these clubs coz deep down i think, why am i paying someone to tell me to do something i could already do myself, im totally the sort of person who would go along for the free introduction and take in as much as possible and not come back and try to do it on my own!

i do the same with my diet and gym training, no ones diet, no ones programme, just do what i thought was good and worked for me.

i think if you want to loose weight you need to know and deal with a few things to make it easier and find what works for you

1) are you happy, if not what can you do to improove this - if your happy its going to come off alot easier , just like it piles on easier when your unhappy. if you can keep your self happy and positive it makes sticking to things alot easier

2) why are you the build you are? learn why you are over weight, what are you weaknesses? if your not a fussy eater you can easily turn all your weaknesses into strengths with alternatives

3) get a plan that works for youself, without knowing your weaknesses you cant work around them and plan something to make it happen.

like myself im not fussy eater, in fact if i have appealing stuff in the house to eat i will normally eat all of it once i get hungry and not stop till its gone.

so i sabotarge myself, only buy the most healthy of food for meals (so if want something bad i have to leave the house to get it! works wonders too)

im not a fussy eater at all, i love 99% of all food and love to eat alot, so replace stodge with veg i can eat as much as i want with regular portions of meat etc. i love fruit too so that replaced my ice cream addiction i had once i had my car and discovered asda selling ben and jerrys for £2 a tub (every day was eating one haha not good!)

i was struggling when i got the car coz i wasnt sticking to my diet, eating late at night and driving down to supermarkets i never had access too without taxi perviousily and caught up with all the lush food they sell like cooked chicken and sweat stuff. so i turned this weakness also into a strength, if i go down i'll only buy stuff like mullor lite yoghurt and fruit, and combine the two and its lush!

works well too as after 3 weeks of doing this down from 15 st 2llbs to 14st 10llbs

now key is working out what works for you, do you need the pressure of other people monitoring you and giving you ideas and support, can you do it yourself and not let yourself down? can you replace stuff you just love to nom away at with stuff thats harmless that you can eat even more of!

that coupled with the gym helps too, but diet is much more important than the gym as good work out with poor diet can still mean weight maintained or put on, or reduces the effectivness of the gym and slows down the results.

the best thing to do is change ya lifestyle and what you eat all the time, then its easier, rather than following someone elses fad diet that worked for them, diets are temporary life style changes can be permanant,

and after a while you might be suprised how your mindset can change and will power isnt a factor no more
