Yes I did

I now have the whole of the bakery in my house.

The hot cross buns were calling my name

Is anyone else as foolish as me?

Come on own up does the crisp aisle call your name or is it the chocolate?

Sometimes go a bit mental in Aldi. They have a fine selection of pastries and crisps.

"Mr reduced to clear has some great bargains"

Oh I do like a good reduced section it's always my first stop.

However I once bought 9p reduced sausages and had food poisoning; out of both ends, for a week. I haven't eaten sausages since.

This takes me back to studying business studies (they actually pump the smell of freshly baked bread around the shop) not so much that you can actually consciously smell it but ya brain picks up on it and it encourages you to buy all the naughty stuff from the bakery lol (or so elfie was told at college lol)

my theory's they make the counter-belt space bars Toblerone shape to make you buy chocolate.!

I do that a lot. It doesn't help that my supermarket puts the hot cross buns on a display as you walk in.

They've also put in a Krispy Kreme cabinet, but I can walk past them.

I can avoid the chocolate aisle as it's next to the freezers and I only buy frozen peas, carrots and diced swede.

I have very little will power at the moment so shopping when I'm hungry is lethal.

We had breakfast at 12.00pm after having a morning full of sex before going to the shops so didn't need to buy extra stuff to fill up on.

They do lots of things to manipulate you into spending more, such as placing the popular items at the far end of the store so you have to walk past everything and hope that you pick up other stuff along the way.

They also put the chocolate bars near the till so that kids shopping with their parents nag them to buy some. They aren't allowed to put them above the conveyor belt any more because it was deemed to manipulative.

They get away with putting products people are more likely to impulse buy at eye level so you can't miss them, as well as inflating prices to make discounts seem better value and rely on people being lazy and not doing their sums to see if special offers/multi buys actually work out better value.

Another thing is "loss leaders" which are products sold cheap to get you in the store hoping that you will buy other stuff as well which is often over priced.

All businesses do similar but supermarkets are particularly aggressive at it.

The cold corner with the profiteroles, tiramsu, cheesecake etc does have a siren's song effect on me when I go shopping hungry.

I've started shopping for groceries online, with a calculator and competitors open to compare. And the bit at the end where they go, why don't you try? I don't even let myself look. Just click next.

It's lethal, savoury snacks for me and if I've had a bugger of a day I head to the wine aisle too.

Have you tried Honey as an extension to your browser when shopping online? 2 clicks and it'll save you money

Yeah, I hate them rearranging the store when I go in person. I just want my stuff. I don't end up buying more stuff, I just end up pissed off.
