40 plus, No reasoning behind it but that's just a age I always have in my head when people say mature

I wonder if the number changes as our own age does? You know a 22 year may very well differ from a 40year old

50 plus I think but then I'm definitely thinking it's about mental attitude. I'm 40 this year but still act like a bloody 25 year old

For me its 20 years older than me. But it's more an attitude than a number. I may be mature in age but not in attitude x

I agree with the attitude comment. I can’t really put an age on ‘mature’. What I do know is that some people can make you feel older or younger. I once dated a guy only a couple of years younger that made me feel ancient.

Now whatever the age, I stick with people who share my zest for life.

Pretty much this!

On the rare occasions I try ‘normal’ dating sites I really just how old guys even approaching my age act! They act like grandads!

I’m 50 going on 25 and generally meet/befriend younger people for that reason!

The friends I have on here my own age are, I’m delighted to say, bloody big kids at heart too!

I think this sums it up pretty succinctly. Maturity is controlled by that thing between the ears. By some measures I'm ancient, but ladies in their 30's through to their 70's would all disagree as my profile records. About 34 in my brain for the fun element.

We need a rating system like they have with cheese so it's uniform.

I found this on line so we just need to remove cheddar and swap months for appropriate ages

Mild Cheddar is typically sold at about 3 months of age; medium matured Cheddar at 5 to 6 months; mature Cheddar at around 9 months, Extra Mature at around 15 months and Vintage at 18 months or more.

Maturity is in someone's behaviour not their chronological age .......In terms of here I'd class mature as late 40's early 50's

At 52 I am probably classed as mature, but as Tweety Pie would say “ he don’t know me very well do he” I recon most people set their age limit to 50 until like me you realise fuck I passed that years ago

I think a lot on here are reacting to the word "mature" as if it means "old and set in ways".

I don't think this is really the case as well as mature people can be great fun! I agree it's more a state of mind and reason most people once they get to a certain age where they become mature can dip in and out of maturity and the commonly thought of behaviour when it suits them. I believe the fundamental difference with those who are immature on the other hand is that they can't readily control this side to them as well so as such will be seen as childish on occasions when it's best for them not to be?

Are we talking about emotional maturity or just the numbers?

I know 20 year olds that have a well developed emotional maturity and 50 year olds that don't, they still throw tantrums.

Emotional maturity has to do with a lot more than the number on your birthday cards.

I’d call mature middle age , now as a kid I saw middle age as 30 to 50

As I reached that bracket I thought it was 45 to 60 ,

now as I’m in the 40-50 bracket middle age must be 60 to 70 ,,

Maybe I just don’t want to admit I am really in that middle age time of life ? Xx
