Snobbery

Is there any topic or subject you have a little snobbery about? It can be inward snobbery where you just think it to yourself, not saying you act badly to people because of it - simply what topics are the ones you feel pretty sure you’re well versed in, if any?

I sometimes think it, but I’m probably just down the bottom end of the Dunning-Kruger scale when I do, hence the confidence.

Anything to do with Steps, I'm such an officianado and love everything about them. I'm such a huge fan and people just don't get them. I'm such a snob about people who don't understand.

Gin, inverted snobbery, hotels, books, holidays, attention seeking. I'm a delightful twat.

I think I’m too common to be snobby. I’m very much used to dealing with snobs though.

Snob? I don't know. Political views, emotional intelligence.. I couldn't define or explain why, other than I do tend to look down my nose at others at some.

Only, when I catch myself doing it, I try and slap my own wrists for being a bit of a dick.

I don't like snobs, so I try to avoid being one, we're only human though, we fuck up.

Ah I'm not an expert in anything. Well one of the things on the list I know a fair amount about but I've a fuck ton more to learn about. So maybe I have aspirational snobbery.

I’m snobby about snobs. Like people who post derogatory comments about others that shop at Asda or Lidl or watch certain tv shows. As with anything, we can all have preferences but we don’t have to be judgmental and snotty about people who have different ones for whatever reason.

Snobby or passionate ? Passionate about goth culture, motorbikes, tattoos and being down to earth. If people don’t like us, our profile, our likes, dislikes and wants then we have no interest in them. If that’s us being snobby, so be it.

I'm sometimes called a snob by people who worry what other people think of them and imagine I'm thinking bad stuff about them. I'm not, I just have a resting bitch face.

I am also frequently called a snob because I take linen napkins and proper cutlery to eat my lunch with at work and actually wash my coffee cup.

These people need to revise their standards of snobbery because these are pretty low

People who wash their cups are not of this world.

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Been told by friends that they thought I was a snob, then then realised I'm me, just quiet until i know people and its often taken the wrong way.

I’m knowledgeable in a few things that people wouldn’t expect me to know. It’s quite funny watching their faces when they realise I do understand what they’re discussing.

"knowing your stuff isnt a snob but looking down your nose at others who are more ignorant than you isnt a nice character trait"

Agreed

I’m not celebrating it or suggesting it’s admirable at all. And actually it’s a dick move and often bourne out of ulterior often un-conscious bias or intent.

(Had to hyphen as that word isn’t allowed!)

"I’m a snob about shoes, handbags, Gin and Tonic and hotels. "

I can relate to that.

My argument is, my Mrs has handbags that are older than her and still in great condition.

I can’t see the point in buying cheap bags that are knackered and need replacing after a few months because they’re such low quality.

My Quote, my experience. Talk to most of this type on a subject they know little or nothing about and the conversation will not last long....unless they can reinstate their narrative.
