Avril Lavigne? My oldest daughter used to love that song! Is it not before your time though op?

Good message though! I’ve had relationships with guys who were unemployed when I met them - and millionaires. It should always be about the person - never the money (or fame in this case!) x

Aw bless - I’m picturing it now! My daughter and I did the same - threw ourselves all over the place! She was 12!

i think it depends on which stage of life you are at. If you are young and carefree you can deal with a starving artist. If you want kids and a roof over your head and holidays then you want someone who is at least solvent. Even if you had your own wealth, one would imagine you'd want someone who is your equal or at least not reliant upon you to engage in whatever level of lifestyle you chose.

I’m pretty sure it’s how we first bonded (he’s technically my stepdad) and if it was just in the car he would let me sit in the front and pick the CDs and we loved her

Could not agree more, couldn't care what their job was or job situation was as long as they were a nice/fun person. It's nice to hear others feel the same because a lot of people are very materialistic.
