All the other good songs Human League did. Just listening to Abs 80s and they played Mirror Man. I always think of don’t you want me when I think of them which was a pretty crap song to be honest but they did some great ones.

Which tunes do you like which weren’t the most popular from bands/singers?

I loved a lot of REM's old stuff from before out of time. Their first 4 albums went (mostly) unnoticed and there are some gems on them.

There and to the left a bit

You say UB40 to most people and they will more often than not say Red Red Wine or I Got You Babe as the first song that comes into their head - yet before they became a reggae-oke band they had some excellent songs that are often forgotten:

Food For Thought

One In Ten

King

My Way Of Thinking

If It Happens Again

To name a few

John Taylor was my favourite too, BBC 4 did a couple of programmes on them a little while back plus they showed one of their concerts. Have this saved on my planner at the moment as I’ve not watched all of it but what I’ve seen so far was very interesting. Ordinary world and hungry like a wolf are definitely my favourite two songs of theirs.

With Madness people will often think of Baggy Trousers, House Of Fun, One Step Beyond, Our House, It Must Be Love etc - which are all good songs but they have gems like the following which people forget about:

Grey Day

The Sun And The Rain

Yesterdays Men

Tomorrow's Just Another Day

Shut Up

Lovestruck

One Better Day
