Already people in power are blaming the victims not the terrorists. .

Fraser Anning, who has represented Queensland in the Australian Senate since 2017, said in a series of tweets: “Does anyone still dispute the link between Muslim immigration and violence?

“The real cause of bloodshed on New Zealand streets today is the immigration program that allowed Muslim fanatics to migrate to New Zealand in the first place. "

Its horrific but worse is the pleasure that some bigots are taking from this. What kind of person crows over other people's suffering?

Note the press wording again, it's 'a shooting' or 'organised attack'attack' rather than terrorism.

Agreed, this is horrendous and so sad for all the victims famillies and friends.

It is clearly right wing terrorism and it should be treated in the same way as other terrorist attacks. Nobody should be defending, nor justifying this heinous crime

The Police in New Zealand initially asked people not to go on-line to view the cam footage from the gunman's helmet, nor read his "manifesto".

The accounts later were removed.

What does the media here do?

Uploads both and inserts in their on-line coverage.

So our media give a platform to this guy's hatred.

Apparently, his manifesto calls for the execution of the Mayor of London.

Well done, Daily Mail etc.

It’s not as simple as the media.

It’s the Basement dwellers who frequent image boards that peddle extremist content from both sides.

You can find the livestream of this atrocity in its entirety within seconds on those sites. And on the flip side you can watch atrocities against Christians on the same sort of sites.

Unless you can police the internet hate will always fester.

"Shocking and extremely sad news.

It is shocking, but more violence does not help. Weapons like those used in this terrorist attack should be banned in any sane society. Images like those taken should not be shown on any public messaging platform. People who make rascist, xenophobic and hate speeches should be prosecuted. This should not become the new norm, this is vile and anyone justifying it should be prosecuted.

Imagine if the Asian Times of Britain, in its coverage of the Ariana Grande atrocity, uploaded ISIS propaganda to its reporting of the event. This is no different.

There is a huge political issue about platforms like Facebook and You Tube not doing enough to filter out extremist content, and here are our most popular news websites making it accessible for all to see.

To the attackers they were not people but people who followed a religion ... Its sad that lives are being ended this way. No matter what religion you follow or not follow it should not happen. "

Nothing to do with religion for the attackers just pure malice.

"New Zealand is one of the most inclusive, friendliest, gentlest countries on Earth.

For them to have suffered an act of terrorism on this scale is utterly heartbreaking."

This was my first thought, which in itself is rather sad, that I heard "mass shooting" and assumed it was America. Never would I have imagined New Zealand!

No, It shows you are a bigot who lacks empathy for the poor souls killed and maimed and their family and friends.

There is no excuse for such horrific actions.

I am now even more concerned for Muslim friends and acquaintances who already suffer a disproportionate amount of abuse.

It’s times like this when the double standards are clearly evident. If you just look at the coverage and the wording that is used. It’s already being down played.

Just look at who is coming out to speak out and how. That itself speaks volumes.

God forbid if the roles were reversed, it would have been uproar by now and plastered everywhere with a certain rhetoric.

Terrorism can only be used for a certain group and it’s saddening.

"Just shows that "multiculturalism" does not work."

The irony being that multiculturalism was brought to Oceania by white people.

I honestly don’t know how white nationalism exists there.

To quote the Theresa May’s van campaign, maybe they should “go home” if they don’t like it there.

I still can’t believe what has happened in such a beautiful part of the world I thought somewhat immune to the shit storm.

I don’t see demands for white community leaders to denounce the attack either, strange. I’ll denounce it and say this white person stands firmly against prejudice of any kind, unless you have a small dick, then I don’t know.

Well yeah, you need an achievable politcal goal, otherwise youre just a murderer. Isis barely qualified they were basically mass murderers who only qualified due to them wanting to build a muslim state.

Maybe this guy is a terrorist, who knows, I didnt read his manifesto. I understand your anger because the press jump to label a muslim a terrorist in a lone attack, but they are wrong to and have mostly cut back jumping to that conclusion too quickly.

Yes the blonde reference features highly in the very sympathetic piece about how he was radicalised in the daily mail. They inevitably blame Asians for this concluding "something must have happened when he went travelling".

I reckon you'd find most members of the ira are also white. Colour doesn't really matter here. If you threaten terror on someone or some peoples because you have an aim, such as Ireland for the Irish, then you are a terrorist. Bomb threats, threats to murder people etc etc. In my opinion you need to be in a movement threatening terror to be a terrorist. Or have links to one. If it's proved that there's a right wing movement threatening to kill muslims and these cunts were members of that, or had links to it, then yes i will happily label them as terrorists.
