When you ain't well..

The last few months I've been getting a range of niggling health problems . Yet my Xrays and blood results have been " normal" . But I know somethings wrong because my body is telling me there is. This is why I dont meet atm because I'm permanently fuckin Ill lately . But my question is this ....

Do you believe that your own body is better at telling you that you have a problem , or do you have complete trust in medical professionals??

You know when you ain't right. Mind you, there's times when just being run down can make you susceptible to getting ill though. And no amount of tests will reveal an accurate diagnosis.

At the mo I am constantly feeling fine one minute and then wiped out the next, but I'm pretty sure that it's stress related and the docs will just tell me to take it easy and rest (which I would promptly ignore and crack on regardless).

Anywho, hope you get sorted OP

I was continually being dismissed by my doctor when I knew there was something not right. They tested me for a few things but couldn’t give me a diagnosis. 18 months later my symptoms got a whole lot worse and a locum doctor saw me and sent me for a colonoscopy. Turned out I had colon cancer and one more month and the tumour would have been so large it would have completely blocked the whole thing. I wasn’t loosing weight and was considered too young to have it so it never crossed the docs mind to send me for testing for cancer.

I don’t want to scare anyone but I would say if you’re not right, you know you’re not right so don’t be robbed off by professionals.

Yes I believe so, I’ve not been well now for over a year, I’ve had severe stomach pains and underwent tests for it, nothing showed up and they stopped for a while, but they’ve started again so I’m having more tests. My 6 month cancer screening came back as my inflammation markers were elevated. You just know when you’re not right x

There’s so many stories of people just not feeling right and keeping on returning to doctors after they’ve said there’s nothing wrong , to then find the cause later on down the line. I’d say follow your instincts and get 2nd/3rd opinions if you can.

They are researching that. Some partners have identified changes in smell, who have later being diagnosed with parkinsonism. Dogs sense of smell with certain conditions too.

Look at your lifestyle. Is your diet generally good, do you get enough sleep, how's your work/leisure balance, are you stressed? Address any problems with those things and if you still feel the same see the doc.

I'm not a medical person so I wouldn't encourage you to follow my advice but lack of sleep for a long period can really mess with your wellbeing.

Personally yes I believe your body tells you things.

I was in my early 20's when I started with symptoms lucky my gp was a gynaecologist and caught my cancer quickly.

The next time I had the symptoms again straight back to my gp and within 8 weeks I was receiving chemo after my op.

Infatic yes. Often doctors are guessing by elimination and they're using experience, knowledge and recent health memos to identify what's wrong. The body does know, it gives off signals, we need to learn from experience and listen to our bodies.

It took decades for the medical world to acknowledge some illnesses that people have been going to the GPS for. Some were just told its just in your mind which is a sad reflection on our societies emphasis upon science being the answer for everything.

essential yes.

It may be the case with Dick now too, he's listened to his body gone to the doctors, had and op and chemo. Now waiting for the results.
