11 month celibacy

Just realised that I've now passed 11 months of celibacy (not all through personal choice). It's also 11 months without any alcohol (that is entirely my choice). Think there could just be a direct link between the two.

Avoiding beer goggles is a must - for women too, of course!

But 11 months...ouch. Hope you rectify that soon, OP.

I don't think it's a problem you need to "rectify"

Asif you just need to go out and shag anyone or you will go insane.

Think you should wait for right person. Or a good situation.

I know, clumsy choice of words.

Wasn't suggesting he shagged anyone or anything - but, if he's unhappy with his celibacy, and the OP inferred he was, that he finds someone who ticks all his boxes - and vice versa - soon. No offence intended.

Think I've also discovered I'm too bloody fussy. There's too many boxes to tick them all.

After my marriage broke down had a few mad months before realising I was seeing people just for the sake of it. Last 11 months have been concentrating on work, children and my health. Not fussed about breaking the drought just for the sake of it. Maybe someone who ticks most of the boxes will eventually appear.

I offer a small bit of advice...

Consider if you are being overly fussy because you want to remain celibate, at some level. Fussy is good but we can sometimes use it to rule out good choices.

I took a year out and it ended up being 14 years of celibacy.

Celibacy is easy. Remembering how to start your sex life again is hard.

Think I'm being fussy because my head wasn't in a good place and wanted to get things sorted without any additional complications. Wasn't a complaint or a grumble, more shock at how quickly time flies by. 14 years though. Ouch!!

Nothing wrong with being fussy we all can be its a choice. Are you saying alcohol makes you less fussy then?
