Bishops Stortford

Both investigations need to be done to find out if there is a common issue,

Pilot error or ground handling error has much a part to play, it might be the aircraft but it also might not be

Until they know what caused both crashes no. The reports will address any safety concerns and make recommendations for modifications etc.

Around 55-60% of all aircraft crashes are due to pilot error any way.

I highly recommend a documentary called Boeing 787: Broken Dreams.

There are similarities between this one and Lion Air crash 5 months earlier. Both soon after take off, both pilots asking to return to airport. But until the investigation is completed it doesn’t bode well to speculate.

Boeing and others have had historic issues of mechanical failure in the past with other models, until the evidence from multiple crashes lead to discovery of the common cause.

In this case, who knows if such common cause exists. Thats down to the Investigators.

However safe air travel is, and it is safe, the consequences of any failure human or systems will always be devastating.

Not sure I would want to fly on a Max 8 atm.

But perhaps we should also spare a thought for those who have been lost and their families torn apart by recent events...
