I think some confuse can't do it with can't be bothered to do it at times. If you are interested and I mean really interested in someone you make the effort and take an interest in them I knows I do.

I don't like it a lot of the time. If someone is naturally chatty it's easy to reciprocate, but that strained, awkward and stilted thing that you do at weddings/christenings/the school gate is tedious.

I'm quite chatty and generally do ok but as Hepatica said, it depends who you're talking to, if they are not the same it can be hard work.

It depends on where and when. Put me in a shop and I will probably end up talking to someone within minutes. Put me at a social engagement and I will struggle

God no I can’t do small talk at all and it drives me nuts when I have to drive the conversation

Exactly! Totally bored of the 'how r u?' messages,

I would understand if I had a blank profile, but if they can't find something from it to speak about, I am so not desired to respond.
