It's not uncommon for us to get messages from men listing their attributes and amongst said attributes are that they are "discreet".

Given that discretion is pretty much a given in this strange lifestyle isn't making a point of saying it a bit like saying "and I am definitely not an axe murderer"...

I agree. An emphasis on discretion in a message usually means "I have an unknowing wife and will not meet in public because I am paranoid about being caught, so How's about a quicky in my car on a lay by off the A10"

Erm, no.

There's another thread running where people have been approached in public by other fabbers who are far from discreet,so no it isn't a given that all members have the common sense and decency to be discreet.

I disagree.

Many people want to take pictures or videos (I see many women with pictures of their meets on their profile) and also depending on the type of person, they may nit want friends or family to know.

Saying you're discreet just means 'If you dont want anyone to know then I dont either'.

I would never share pictures without consent but I might tell my friends i'm meeting up with a woman, whereas if they wanted discretion I wouldnt even tell my friends.

I dunno, I've been sat at a dinner table in a restaurant with a single male and single female fabber, there were tables with other diners on relatively close and the female appeared to see nothing wrong with discussing the lifestyle, other fab members and all manner of other things sexual (extremely loudly I must add) whilst stuffing her face. In fact I think she relished it.

When people take pains to point how discreet they are I presume they’re either in a relationship and on Fab without permission (and in many cases when I’ve queried it that’s been the case) - or they’re ashamed of being swingers and won’t be seen in public with you for fear of being recognised by someone they know!

I used to use it. Now I just say married.

I like meeting married women too. That way we are both in the same situation and the need for discretion is mutually understood.

I've been in a similar situation although this was a group of Fabbers and I could clearly hear the somewhat indiscreet revelations of someone at the other end of the table from me who was holding court (loudly) on all things Fab, their experiences (good and bad) and slating various people they had met.

Was also at a group social where someone had chosen to reveal to other people in the public area of the bar that we were swingers!!

Seems some people have no idea of the meaning of the word discreet!!

However, saying something doesn't mean it's true or even that the person saying it understands it in the same way as you do....
