Back to work, at last. Baby steps at first...

After fracturing her knee, last September, Monika who is my fab partner will get back into work this week. She has been through hell and back and needs a little support and encouragement to keep on battling, like the trooper she is.

So going from wheelchair, zimmer frame, rollator and two crutches: she is now down to one crutch.

I've taken her out of her comfort zone so often, that she can trust me to coach and comfort her, when the going gets tough.

A few kind words from the wonderful people here would really boost her morale and mean a lot to me and her friends too.

Thanking you in advance.

Peter

Thank you, Pete, for starting the thread, and everyone for good wishes. Yes, it was a nasty break, tibial plateau fracture Schatzker type VI (if anyone wants to do Google search). Never thought a silly bathroom slip would do so much damage... But things are looking up now, with intense physio on all fronts.

This warms my heart, my mum had a nasty fall in September too and broke her hip (again) she is currently wheelchair bound, full body hoist but this brings me hope that one day she hopefully will walk again, she starting to stand now for a few seconds every day, my siblings purchased a beast board for her to get into the car etc but she’s far too scared to use it yet.

So thank you for posting this, it brings me hope.

I wish you all the best for your mum. There will be tears, panic attacks and hopefully a lot of little victories. Don't be afraid of taking charge and trying new ideas. I'm full of them, so feel free to ask. Monika can give you her point of view too. She is a full-time carer to,so her experience and knowledge is gold dust.
