Your best meal

Solihull

So you have someone you really fancy around for the evening and you've promised you'll cook for them.

The question is, what's your signature dish that you would cook for them to show off your culinary skills ?

Are beans on toast the limit of your cooking skills or are you a dab hand in the kitchen ?

I don't have a signature dish however, I've had compliments on the following:

Paella - by my Spanish gf at the time.

Linguine with prawns/cod - by my Italian colleagues.

Sunday roast - by everyone

A weird vegan dish that is basically tofu, coconut milk, lemon grass, sweet peppers, chili, lime, onion, and rice/noodles, which a mixed bunch of people liked.

Baked sea bass/mackerel with tagliatelle and tomato, onion and herb sauce went down well with a few girls I've wined and dined.

I'd choose paella but you can choose dessert.

Pick the hardest to make why don't you, I'm not even sure if the paella pan works on the new cooker

Tarte De Santiago for dessert, crumble or Tiramisu?

I love Almonds so I'll take the Tarte please. You can substitute the paella pan for a frying pan; it'll still work.

Oh god I've never done paella in a frying pan, I'd have to consult with a Spanish friend as to how to do that.

But okay, the Tarte.

Red with dinner, coffee with dessert?
