Just back from the post office collecting my new vinyl deliveries.

Anyone else still play records?

I do have a few but not many. I can't justify paying £20 for an album.

Yes, proudly in my front room, AC/DC back in black cover just opposite me currently. That does hide some other not so cool albums I have

I have a couple of boxes full in the attic. I should take them to a dealer really. It makes me smile that music companies and technology companies spent years to try and produce the clearest sound and now many are going retro and want scratchy vinyl!

Still buying vinyl and still regretting selling off most of my collection when CDs (no, not cross dressers) came along.

Can’t beat the buzz you get when you find an album you’ve been looking for whilst on a charity shop hop.

Charity shops are "OK", but the condition of most albums tend to make them unplayable on my system. Plus for the most part they are far too overpriced.

Have a local second hand record shop not far from me, prices are good and the condition of most albums is spot on. If it's not for any reason he will take it back for a refund or exchange, win win all round

I bought a deck and amp last August after 15 years, it’s been great getting all my albums out and playing them. Started buying a few from 2nd hand stores as well plus new on line. Up to about 150 or so now.

As someone that has never stopped buying Vinyl, i'd like to give the following advice for anyone that is buying now.

Don't buy new Vinyl releases. The thing that makes Vinyl special is that it's recorded in the analogue domain, that's what gives it the soundstage it has. Newly released Vinyl has been recorded digitally and will never sound the same as an analogue recording when converted to Vinyl. The Vinyl releases we are seeing now are just record companies cashing in on the resurgence of Vinyl..................not one of them has actually used analogue masters to produce the albums so far.

This is a very good point.

I have a music room, twin Decs and a mixer and a huge collection of vinyl. Recently sold nearly 6,000 singles collected over years as wasn't playing them. I love spinning a tune.
