little house on the praire

when we where kids my grandma had a record player and used to buy novelty songs for us to dance to. The one i remember the most is lily the pink, we used to dance round the kitchen table and sing it to my mum as her name was jennifer(there is a line it it that says jennifer eccles had terrible freckles)

Wasnt until years later that i realized the singer was paul mccartneys brother

"anyone remember "lily the pink" by scaffold?? "

I remember this! my mum had it her record collection, when I was really little I can remember me, my sister and her friends, lining up in the room with all our toy instruments and miming to it like crazy! I didn't understand the lyrics and due to the 'Jennifer Eckles' section was convinced it was written for my sister Jennifer.

"the laughing gnome - David Bowie "

Can remember when David Bowie was asking his fans as to what he should play on his "final" tour.

The NME was literally begging their readership to vote for that one.
