This opinion will probably get me lynched as it’s an extremely popular brand, but I actually don’t think much to Whitley Neil gin. I’ve tried a few flavours, some are ok but but nothing special.

Currently The Botanist is hitting the spot, as does Hendricks. I also have a bottle of Monkey 47 that C bought me.

But if you want a really smooth gin then Cooper King is a gorgeous gin.

Also if ever in Australia, then you need to try Affinity gin, distilled by Karu…it’s the smoothest gin ever and it wins awards every year. I’ve yet to be able to buy it in this country.

Maldon

Call me old fashioned but for me it’s simply a stiff Gordon’s gin and Schweppes. Ice and a wedge of lemon.

No time for fancy gins or tonics. Would sometimes stretch to a Tanqueray but then that’s simply a stronger Gordon’s.

Happy Xmas all.

Lots of the Northern Irish ones are great but also love Nordes from Spain because it reminds me of the sea, Nelson's gin from Staffordshire and Monaco gin also deserve a mention.

If you like a fancy bottle you can't beat Mermaid gin from the Isle of Wight or Generous gin from Paris. X

"The perfume tree.

I adored that bottle although it really seemed that it was a marmite gin amongst the bobs.

Some of the 2020 gins were amazing.

I also loved the Altitude Alpine and the GWYR Rhamanta.

'everyday' gin is either

Batch (made locally to me), Tanquray 10 or Tarquins
