"Its a very sensitive issue but I think people should have a choice. I watched my mum battle with cancer. She went from a vibrant, full of life, healthy woman to a shell of herself. I could see the pain and suffering in her eyes, it was heartbreaking x" Same here. I remember towards the end begging the nurse the help in the hospice to help, /she was very lovely and said we can't but we get asked all the time

"Do you think it's about time us brits could have a choice whether we want to die or not if we are suffering. Why should someone have to travel then family fear prosecution if they want to go to Switzerland to die. Watching my Mum and my brother both suffer at the end with terminal cancer I do think they should have the right. What are your thoughts? " Personally I think each person has the right to determine when they have had enough life. Watching loved ones suffer the same as yourself makes you question whether the quality of life is there. I dont think anybody should have the right to take that choice away from the individual. Obviously capacity to make that decision is an issue as well as ensuring that there is no doubts. But on the whole the individuals wants and desires should be paramount. It's a hotly debated issue but that's my opinion

"I think you should have the choice simply based on quality of life. We shouldn't have to be ill." Very true

"We have a lot of choice in our lives, but for some reason this one is taken away from us. I do think we should be allowed the choice to end the pain and suffering, " We do ..just have to have the sense to not get so doped up that you don't care that things are getting really bad

"As a carer this is something I've thought about a lot. Although I could be imprisoned for taking my mum to the dignitas clinic I would do it if she asked me to. I view it as the ultimate act of love and kindness and almost a duty. I would be devastated to lose my mum but would put my own feelings aside and do what she wanted." So this

I've never properly looked into the details. Is it true that accompanying someone to Dignitas could get them imprisoned? It's so wrong. People should have a choice over their own lives. For any reason of their choosing.

" There is not enough talk about death. It is part of any living creatures life cycle. It's not always something to be feared. For some it would be a blessed release. " This is so true.. I have no problem talking about it because once born there is only one other certainty in our lives and that is death and yet its such a taboo

" I think that end of life care in this country is fundamentally flawed and if their suffering could be mitigated by a shorter, kinder end, then that would be a very good change. I saw the shit-show that is cancer of a loved one at close quarters recently (sadly not for the first time), and I wouldn't wish that on Anyone.

" Hypothetically you could be charged with assisting suicide however the fact that the deatg took place abroad complicates things to the point that it becomes an impossibility in reality. But the police would almost certainly make contact because there is a safeguarding concern involving what would be deemed a vulnerable person. It's also worth mentioning that prosecutions for assisted suicide in the UK are incredibly rare (even though assisted suicidesuicide do happen) as they are rarely deemed in the public opinion. But there is such a lack of dignity in suicide both in the mode of death with a mandatory police/corronial investigation that is wrong for the terminally ill which is why I believe euthanasia should be allowed
