Bondage. You can’t go anywhere or do anything, so you can switch off and relax. Not for everyone, but it works for me.

Put your favorite music on and sing along really loud. Make a dick of yourself until you laugh...

The Calm app is really good. You have to go with it and learn to relax, but it’s a great way just to help you get your thoughts together

Join the army- go to Afghanistan and kill everyone you're allowed to. Nothing like a lawful psychotic episode to get it all out of your system.

Jigsaws help as well I find.

There's always CBD oil it's amazing. I've been taking it for 3 months now it's worked wonders for me, not just Stress & Tiredness and general aches and pains/ Inflammation ect. It's expensive but definitely worth a shot!..

Holland & Barrett sell it. X

Hi Kate, yes I can swim, learnt from an extremely early age!

I'm currently recovering from an injury so doctors have told me swimming helps in moderation

The challenge is, there are always kids about....

Stress balls work!

Btw they are the squidgy ones you buy not the ones you were born with that won't relieve your stress.

Your welcome. Do research it up. Joe Rogan (pod casts) speaks about it and the benefits in terms of Stress and Anxiety as well as other properties it has. It's completely safe and none addictive.

I'm pleased to help as I have a stressful career and the oil has help lots. Highly recommended to anyone who suffers with symptoms such as Anxiety and stress. There is different strengths but talk to the shop health assistant in there.

Good luck OP xx

Thank you Bb, appreciate the suggestion. Keep on giving yourself 'self love'. Something tells me you're slightly stressed

Do these actually work for anyone though? I've tried them before but no luck. I had to resort to a using a cricket ball instead during uni!

Meditation, twenty mins once or twice a day. Use Buddhist mindfulness of breathing one as a starter. Reduces stress, can lower blood pressure and help breathing, digestion and sleep quality amongst other things. Also free.

Does your local pool not have any adult only evenings?

Usualy pools will do a lane/public time.too.

So while everyone is playing about you can still have a lane or two to swim

A hot bath with bubbles and salts. Your favourite tunes and candles burning. Fantastic for relaxing and soothung the body and mind. A little trick I picked up as well is gettung a small rubber toy ball and putting it behind your back and rolling up and down, side to side against it. Works out the kinks in your muscles

Central

Meditation, yoga and other relaxation techniques will primarily reduce stress.

Exercise is also a good stress buster - it allows your excess adrenaline, cortisol etc, to be more healthily managed.

Sleep is an essential part of a healthy life - so aim to improve your sleeping habits, volume and quality, as appropriate.

Your diet will also impact upon stress levels - stimulants will increase stress, so manage your intake. Eating a well balanced diet, that's not disruptive to your body and lifestyle, is important. Eat good food, at the right times.

As we're social animals, ensure that your social needs are met. If you're stressed, recruit others so that they can help you to minimse your stress levels. This may include all manner of social interaction. Come over here for a massage. Talk things through.

I'd encourage you to write down things that are bothering you. Externalising things is good for us - it also helps to constrain them and we could keep something away from our minds, until such time as we may went to address it etc. Write things on your mind, such as unfinished tasks etc, before bedtime.

Also, consider what aspects of your needs aren't being met. If you're not being creative, playing or something else - work out how you can do something to integrate this into your life. Even as adults, playing is still therapeutic for us.
