Disagree. It's tacky and expensive. The US is fucking huge so it depends what you are after.

I would definitely recommend San Diego. Everything an American city should be. I was there for comicon last year. Incredible.

Avoid LA.

New Hampshire is amazing.

My best night out ever was in Des Moine in Iowa, but that did have a legendary grad party of student nurses..

One note though, seeing as you obviously work out, prepare for terrible food. Almost everything is beige and full of sugars. You are hard pushed to find fresh veg or fruit that isn't GM, or meat that isn't full of steroids or washed in chlorine. The only culinary advancement in US cuisine in the last 20 years has been avocado.

Enjoy

San Francisco, hugely cosmopolitan city, great sights, scenery, nightlife. All you could want for a first time without being too in your face.

Or hire a car (It's not expensive and petrol is cheap too) and do a road trip. The USA has some stunning state and national parks like Big Bend, Yellowstone and Hill Country (around San Antonio and Austin Texas).

Depends what you're after bud! New Orleans is a great place along with San Fran. If you ride motorbikes do Route 66, breathtaking sights. For beaches or outdoor activities? Cant beat Hawaii. Harbor Town in South Carolina is great for a chilled change of pace. Wherever you go enjoy dude

Charlotte NC.. beautiful.

Vegas.. Loads of fun. Defo do the Grand Canyon tour by helicopter. Breathtaking

Boston.. Fenway park and duck tours.

Orlando.. Disney and Universal. Awesome

I'm lucky as I have loads of family over in the States so seen a good bit. So many to choose from so I'd say just think of something you'd love to do or see and go from there. Have an awesome trip xx

Florida West coast very laid back. Vegas is worth seeing, but probably only for a weekend. New York is full on but fascinating. San Francisco is laid back. Indianapolis is proper America. Memphis is gritty and real.

Monument Valley in Arizona is amazing, so are the Rockies and Wyoming.

But I like the greatdoors, mountains and doing activities; which is why Florida etc don't appeal to me.

Go to the west coast Florida beaches - they're more relaxed, less crowded and I think nicer

How long for? Hire a car and do Route 66. Best thing I did.

Other than that I preferred Florida to California personally. Vegas is amazing but no more than 3 days max. Same with New York. 3 days is enough.

How do you expect us to be mind readers and know what your interests are? There is this little thing called the internet, you know.

What a helpful little soul you are

I like recommendations from other people when I’m venturing somewhere new.

Fair enough. To be honest, I don't, but we are all different. I am curious as to how you expect people to know what your interests are, e.g. big cities, countryside, shopping, gardens, wildlife, history, deserts, forests, food, etc. etc.

If you have time start on the west coast in San Francisco and work down. If not just do San Francisco its the best.

I've done east coast NY to Miami some amazing places enroute. From Manhattan down through NJ and into Washington toured up to the blue ridge parkway catching Virginia, NC and Sc finally Florida.....I would recommend a fly drive best way to see Motels are cheap fuel and car hire cheap...

Love many of these places - but I think it depends on what kind of things you like.

A vote for Austin - very cool, particularly if you're into live music.

Washington is nice...Baltimore isn't....

A trip up Highway 1 is amazing, as is Yosemite.

It depends what interests you. You can buy a 2 week or month pass on the Am-Trak and go wherever you like with unlimited travel.

I bought a 1 month pass;which was quite cheap at the time, and traveled around the east side of USA. Was great fun.
