Persceptions.....

Now I don't want to start off on a negative, but what I am interested in are perceptions about how do you perceive yourself?

For example I have owned my property for years and you know there are people you know around you and speak to them, but you never get round to asking them their actual name, as after a while it becomes too embarrassing.

Well I had said guy come round to quote for an actual job at the weekend and he hinted that he wanted to take me out on a date years ago, but never had the guts

to actually do so. Yes I felt uncomfortable and laughed it off, but it was still a hint and I have never had any attraction to this man. Why do some people think I am so attractive they would say yes, if only I asked? I really don't understand this as most females would automatically think not a chance in hell would they be interested, why the hell would some men thing otherwise? I have had this happen to me a lot and TBH sometimes it has scared the shit out of me, why do some men think they are gods gift when they are far from it? It truly baffles me!

I'd probably be the same to be honest... I'd assume that you had a long line of guys just waiting to take you out and in would be so far down the list thay I'd just stand back and admire xxx

If they don't try they won't know.

Maybe he doesn't think he's so attractive women won't say no.

Maybe he likes you and hoped you liked him too.

I've read your post twice now and have come to the conclusion that I have absolutely no idea what you're on about!?

What has owning your property got to do with it? I'm a bit confused.

Maybe your response is why he didn't have the guts all those years ago?

Kind of hope he's not on fab reading this....

I don't think I got my OP quite right, I think, in the manner he spoke that he would have expected me to agree to a night out with him, which I never would have, but as he was now with someone else it was off the table, so why even bring it up if it spanned 25 years? I don't understand it!

What the actual fuck is the opening post about? It's a weird mixture of arrogance and utter jibberish

I went to a party once & there was an Adonis of a man there. He worked his way through some if not all the women there then asked me "do you want a turn"... I'd rather stick hot coals in me bra, I guess he thought as a plump older lady I'd be grateful....

Just be flattered that he was flirting with you. He probably thought you needed a bit of cheering up.

"What the actual noaggrogrance about it!fuck is the opening post about? It's a weird mixture of arrogance and utter jibberish"

Really? If that's what you think, why even make a comment?

If you don't understand it, it's not my problem, and there is no arrogance about it!

It isn't clear what you are saying to be fair.

Maybe said guy mentioned it because it was a very long time ago and maybe he didn’t have the confidence he has now? I don’t think all men thinks they are God’s gift. At least that’s what I get from the post, unless he was leaning on the doorway acting all smary about it.

Basically you’re saying this man wasn’t worthy to ask you out.

My perception of myself is I'm a plain looking, overweight, middle aged woman, with an endearing personality.

Ok, bluntly, I've lived here over 20 years, he has never flirted in the past and just recently did so. Is that now clear?

He must be at least 20 years older than me. But now thinks, if he asked me earlier he might have had a chance with me, but to have someone say that to your face it is just hard to deal with.

I am in no way arrogant or indigenous about attractiveness etc, but...… that is the question I am asking!

So he’s an OAP now? Maybe he’s just one of those sweet old men who likes to charm the ladies with a bit of flattery. We’ve all had the ones who say ‘oooh if I was 20 years younger’.

I wouldn’t be offended by someone telling me they wish they’d made a move 20 yrs ago, I’d just laugh about it.

Some people live with regrets, he’s just voicing his now. I think it’s quite sweet albeit a bit late.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My perception of myself is that I'm a short, fat, older woman with amazing tits, good skin, intelligence and wit. And modest.

If someone pays me the compliment of saying they fancied me in the past/fancy me now I wouldn't automatically think they think they are God's gift. Even if I never fancied them/don't fancy them they see something in me they find attractive. That's their perception of me, not mine. Their reluctance to raise it at the time was their perception that I was out of reach or, too standoffish to approach.

I'm confuddled by the OP. The above is my response to what I think was being asked. Oh, I also own my own property.

I agree, but to be said in earnest, to embarrassing situation to find yourself in even though you didn't realise for over 20 years.

O o O oo

He had a crush on you years ago, didn't have enough confidence to ask you, so mentions it now but not to get in your drawers now as he is with someone else

I can't see a problem

SOME men do think they are Gods Gift

The vast majority, however, are decent blokes just bumbling their way through life

Sometimes, we make faux pa's or come across as inappropriate

Other times we are simply victims of overthinking
