Just out of curiosity does anyone still buy DVD or Blu-ray disks?

I haven't bought one in years and have a huge amount in storage that go unwatched.

We buy blue rays mostly, but we have a James Bond collection which is all DVD so whenever a new Bond comes out we buy it on DVD.

Blue ray we still buy. Our internet is rubbish out in the rural so it’s our better option.

So the question is..

Roger Moore or Sean Connery?

I rewatched Buffy a couple of years ago. It was awesome

The only dvds I have are of collections that I felt the overwhelming need to own, ie Battlestar Galactica, The Green Wing, Black Books. I've not bought a DVD for years now though.

Connery. Moore is too pretty, although when he died we did another marathon (we do them often enough) and I found a new appreciation for him. He was just too old and pretty for me

If i actually want to watch a film at home, i always buy the Blu Ray 4K HDR version now. No point at all in having a 65inch 4k HDR OLED tv and just watching DVD's and Blu Rays now when buying new films. That said, the older films still look stunning.

I have a disc with the Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody on it ... I think it was bootleg recorded in the cinema cos as I was watching it I saw a little silhouette of a man ..

I only buy blu-rays/dvds. I've always preferred having physical copies of stuff like that.

I’ve done that quite a few times and we have 2 cabinets full of dvds.

I would really like to organise them into some order so I can find the dvd I actually want to watch when the notion takes me but never seem to get round to organising it!

Only been buying Star Wars/Marvel/DC and some TV series recently. Got 100s of others, most in storage in cellar. I also do the same as others and watch the version on telly when owning Bluray. I do plan on buying a bluray drive for laptop and ripping content onto home server and I'll then move the in house Blurays into storage too, that way I'll have a copy to stream to every device in house as I got the house fitted with network cables when I moved in

It only ruins the film doing that and your enjoyment of it

Like most old style storage tech, they have had their day.

We have hundreds and will be glad to wave them goodbye.

In fairness they are probably a fifth of what they used to cost now so still value for money.

Stream it we say.
