Pod coffee machine

I'm looking at options for a pod coffee machine.

Any suggestions or bargains welcome as I'm confused by options.

I’ve found the quality of drinks isn’t much different across the ranges. I have a Dolce Gusto but buy the own brand pods these days as it’s the same taste but cheaper. You can pick up a decent machine for £25. Buy a canister for the pods from a homeware store and it all works out well on the wallet.

Have a look on the Nespresso website. They do a subscription where you pay a fixed amount each month which goes into your account to buy the pods and your machine costs £1. You use the monthly fee to buy coffee which you would be doing anyway so basically get your machine almost free!

The subscription starts from £18 a month depending which machine you choose. You can get your coffee from one of the Nespresso boutiques or can order online and you get free delivery with your subscription. You don't have to order every month, just when you want to and your credit stays on your account for 2 years.

I've got the most basic machine with a subscription of £18 a month. The minimum term is 12 months and after that you can cancel and keep the machine. I'm planning on cancelling and taking out a new subscription and getting a bigger machine.

They do a free recycling service for your used coffee pods.

I use the proper Nespresso capsules and I buy lidl own brand too as I drink loads of coffee

I had a dolce gusto, low price and highly rated. Though since finding lidls latte sachets 89p for 8 the coffee machine has gone away.

Some of the sachets can make a cracking brew! Those azera latte ones are lush. Need to try these Lidl ones tho.

I thought that at first with my £18 subscription. I actually spend about £25 a month on Nespresso pods and £20 on lidl pods

I wouldn't recommend getting the vertuo machine. It makes amazing coffee but you can't buy cheap pods for it from the supermarkets, you can only use Nespresso pods. The pods come in different sizes and they have a barcode on every pod that tells the machine how much water to put through. The pods are also quite a bit more expensive than those for the original machine too.

We recently bought a Sage Creatista Plus, and love it! Only use aluminium capsules if not from Nespresso, and recycle for free. Love the consistency of the brew, and super quick if you fancy a hot chocolate too

Don’t waste your money. Buy a single cup or double cup stove top Moka Pot and a bag of Aldi Ground coffee 3, 4 or 5 strength depending on your taste. Warm milk up in either a pan or one of the electric milk warmer/frother gadgets you can buy (I just use a small pan) and your good to go.

Much more cost effective and a much more superior quality coffee taste than the plastic pots.

Don’t worry about not getting through the credit in coffee, you’ll quickly become a Nespresso addict Even if the credit does build up, it stays in your account for 2 years and you can also spend it on absolutely anything in their store, not just coffee.

I cancelled my subscription at the end of the 12 month plan and took out a new one. Replaced my basic machine with the expert which costs £45 per month. It has app connectivity so as long as I’ve popped a pod in and put a cup under the spout, I can brew coffee in the morning as I’m brushing my teeth the other good thing about this machine is that you can make up your own settings. I have a very weak, long coffee setting saved for my mother in law and also a very strong long coffee as my favourite too.

I have £90 in my account at the moment and I’m planning to order more pods and also a milk frother machine too

I saw this and actually though it seemed a pretty good deal but already have a machine. I might upgrade some time.

I treat myself to Nespresso pods but tend to buy from Aldi.

If I happen to be in a Tesco or an asda I might indulge in some Starbucks pods. Or Taylor's of Harrogate. Those a pretty good. Quite often they're on offer.

Nothing beats kazaar and dharkan though.

Personally I'd check for one you can use the generic pods with which are much cheaper than the branded. Unsure if Tassimo let you use generic pods.

I just use a plunger type and have done for years. Buy my roasted coffee on line delivered who gets from a reputable source or when in India I but direct and they grind and vacuum seal it for me.

I have a sage nespresso, it was a bit pricey but the smell after you just made one is definitely worth it, and saves a fortune on buying out all the time.

Bought the small Nespresso machine today. Impressed with it.

Small, and effortless to use. Plus the subscription service works out that the machine is practically free.

I’d had four cups of espresso before o left the shop!

yeah got mine at Christmas makes lovely hot chocolate don't drink coffee so can't help you on that
