I’m alarmist donenon the application. CV, competency questions which I bloody hate, done the application just need to say what my personal objectives are and the covering letter.

What are people looking for with the personal objectives. I just want the fucking job like, but obviously I can’t write that.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Just state why you want this job, what you hope to learn and how you want to develop.

Come someone do it for me. Losing the will here.

It’s a standard custody officer job in a large company so chance to progress and be looked after blah blah blah. Can someone write it in a buzz word fancy way, pleeeease.

Don't over think it. Sometimes the corporate speak puts recruiters off. In a role like that they put a lot of importance on a person's values . Focus on the skills you have and how you can develop further within the role. Look at the person specification and make sure you are highlighting all the essential things they are looking for. Sometimes good candidates are not shortlisted because they don't do this and don't score well enough in an initial sift

What the hell is a large company doing arresting people and holding them in custody?

if you know what the job is and you have most of the skills, then in simple terms lay out what you bring to the job on day one, and what you will learn while doing the job.

As I have no idea what you can do, or what the job is, I couldn't help with your application.

Personal objectives are just that.

Mine are for example to immigrate permanently to Canada at some point, live in a lodge in the forest and take part in Redbull rampage.

Oh and work as a forest ranger.

G4S and other companies do custody transportation. They take prisoners from court to prison and vice versa plus hospital visits. They also manage custody in court buildings and security. Custody officer is the job title.

That helps me understand, but what I understand is I am unqualified to answer the OP's question

Masked and Distant

Why not be honest?

Why did you apply? To help uphold the safe transportation of prisoners for ever? Or to start on a career path in a nationally recognised company.

Where do you want to get to career wise? Is there an end goal? The job you are applying for, is it a stepping stone onto something else?

Training - are there courses or a recognised professional qualification you can study for ?

I think of it as your aspirations.

This is good

Remember whatever you write has to be carried over into the interview process as well. Which is why it has to be your thoughts and objectives otherwise it will come to light when your face to face.

I've interviewed people before and found precisely this on a couple of occasions. Another big one is an eloquently written personal statement that clashes with poor verbal and expression skills in person.

Is it just me, or aren't questions like "what are your personal objectives" exercises in organised mendacity, given that the true answer is likely to be "well actually, I'd love to win the lottery and never have to bother with crummy jobs like this, but as that is extremely unlikely I want to get some job where I can get maximum pay for minimum effort and this job more or less fits the bill"

I hope one of these personal objectives was about diversity and being a woman in that environment.

That would do the trick.
