Rule one ... Never, ever invite a stranger to your house.

It's that simple

For that second one who's going to man that and pay the staff to man it? What If things turned nasty after the check in call?

So I follow these basic rules. Meet for a social first. Don't accept lifts. Meet in a public place. Hotel club meets. If I go to there's I ask for full address and make them aware that I will be giving the details to friends. never accommodate until I know someone very well

Why should admin take responsibility for your safety? Surely you should put in safety measures?

Go download an app called SafeDate

It’s not up to admin to keep us safe.

Who would even man that? And for free?

Why the fuck should the site do anything?

It's adults meeting adults for sex!! The site isn't a baby sitting service.

People should take responsibility for themselves. This shit goes on in the real world - it's not the internet's fault.

I think some people are lulled into some weird dreamland where they assume all people are trustworthy.

Verifications saying someone is nice DOES NOT mean that person won't attack you.

Admin here are volunteers, they simply wouldn't have time to monitor what you suggest.

Safety is a matter of common sense for the individual.

Meet in a public place, not a strangers house.

Drive yourself, or use reputable cab firms.

Have a safe buddy who has details of where you're going and with whom.

Get them to call you and check if all is ok.

Never give out private information until you trust that person.

Use a burner phone instead of your own phone.

Don't invite strangers to your home until your comfortable doing so.

Oh. And no - nobody should be called out.

It’s easy to lie.

by the seaside

Always have a social in a public place first (this also s out the time wasters) and never invite people to your home if you're still unsure. Easier to meet at club or hotel for safety.

Its pretty risky to invite a total stranger to your house.

Fab arent even responsible or liable for me needing eye bleach so they wont be stepping up for this!

If you read around the site they do offer safety tips with regards to meeting in a public place etc.

"Rule one ... Never, ever invite a stranger to your house.

This

1 Meet in a public place.

2 Use your thinking bits to assess the person not your tingly bits.

3 Have a friend lined up to call you after a certain time.

This one isn't Fabs responsibility, imagine supervising meets for 30k plus members!

As for calling out on Fab, some people would troll just because they can, wouldn't help identify trustworthy folk.

Discernment, discernment, discernment.

In the middle

You have to ensure your own safety it’s up to you to keep yourself safe.

In the past I have given the details to a friend of who and where I am meeting, which site and his username also, belt and braces where safety is concerned

Manchester (she/her)

If you need an adult to supervise you, you might not be mature enough to be bumping uglies.

No system is foolproof, any system can be abused. And it's up to the individual.

The gang mob who pointed out we’re adults and responsible for our own safety, and asked how admin would even run a safety scheme thing?

A very quiet gang mob

To be fair, some posts are not friendly advice, some are sarcastic / swearing and sneering.

If people are going to speak like that surely they can't be surprised if someone bites back. Also if people don't like others biting back maybe don't dish it out in the first place...just a thought.

O o O oo

I have removed the first post as it is against forum rules.

I doubt if Admin would have the time or the manpower to do what you suggested so probably the best thing is to do what people would be doing for dating people they have met on the net, make sure a friend knows where you are going and keep in touch with them.

There are some tips on the FAQ's
