until a few days ago if we clicked on a new tab in IE9 we were offered a selection of recently used web-sites ...

but now when we do that we get a blank page - and cannot see what settings we have changed to lose past history ..

any suggestions??

Have you clicked on the "Hide Sites" link that is at the top right of the New Tab page?

Click Tools/Internet Options and then on the General tab look to the bottom for a subheading called Tabs and click Settings.

In the window that pops up look half way down to a box that says, "When a new tab is opened, open:" and then it gives you drop down menu, make sure that "the new tab page" is selected.

Click Apply.
