I see it more and more on fab.

Not how someone looks but how someone treats another person.

It’s easy to call someone think a stick insect or a BBW fat when you are behind a keyboard, but would you have the guts to face to face?

Only nasty to people who deserve it. I'd have no problem telling them to their face either.

I think most will say that on here.

It’s easy to turn someone down for a meet via messages but I find it awkward when on a meet to say not for me.

If I were talking to a skinny woman and size came I would say I'm fat, you're skinny.

It's the word I use to describe my size, back when I was skinny.

Oh I long for those days.

We tend not to get much abuse in messages but then we tend not to be noticed.

I agree the forums can be nasty, but I also think some work very hard to be offended.

You'll get better at it. You have to. I find if you politely tell them to their face that you don't feel the connection/attraction is there, and they can see that you are sincere about it, they'll accept it. If you leave it until later and do it by text, they tend to eithrr go full-on keyboard warrior, or start trying to wear you down.

I always meet in a public place first. Happy to say thanks for a pleasant evening but not for me to their face or via a message.

I agree with you, but at the same point it's always been like this to a degree.

When I first joined, the forums could be a very hostile place, in many ways worse than they are now.

However that doesn't justify the behaviour or attitudes of some nor the intolerance and lack of respect shown.

I'm exactly the same in person as I am on the forums, generally calm and collected but if I have something to say, I will.

I took a break from the forum when there was a period people kept calling people like me "it" rather than he (i don't mind) or she.

I think Fab isn't too bad at all. The mods sort out forum posts and messages that are outside the site rules.

Facebook and other sites are full of really vile, rude people. I find Fab quite peaceful in comparison.

So it's okay if you think that someone deserves it ?

That's very judgmental .......

Who decides what nasty is ?

If I was having a chin wag with a woman who was thin, and we started talking about our bodies, I would refer to mine as fat and hers as skinny. When I was skinny I would say "I'm skinny" and I would love to be able to say that now; but I'm fat.

No we're talking ugly as in insulting other people's appearances just to make themselves feel less shitty.

The Land that time forgot (Norfolk)

I wouldn't ever call someone anything that I think they might find offensive to their face or online unless they had first done something to instigate it. Once I consider they deserve it then makes no difference if it's online or face to face.

People are much braver on-line and would shit themselves if they were ever confronted in real life with the person they have said nasty this about.

I'm quite shocked at the number of women who have had some seriously bad, as in scary illegal bad, experiences with other site members. Of all the ladies I chat too, about one third have talked about this. Not good.

There’s nothing worse than an ugly personality and it’s not something that can be changed.

I still find it shocking how unpleasant people can be to one another on here at times.

Try meeting guys on Tinder. When they see you are chubbier than they thought they seem more than happy to say it to your face. It's getting worse.

If I think someone has an ugly personality I either say so or just ignore them.

It's kinda tricky when you work with people like that, so I just get on with my job and stay quiet, which is hard for me.

Those who have met me will understand.

I'm fairly tolerant except for people who are disrespectful, which I stop, once noticed. The forum environment here changes over time - we have seasonal bumps but I agree with others, the forum of yesteryears were somewhat tougher.

Consider visiting Politics, if you'd like a good, friendly chat with others.

Personally I think the forums have mellowed over the years, whether that’s down to more moderation I’m not sure.

I rarely see the ripping to shreds of someone that used to take place.

Message wise it’s pretty much the same, I choose not to see it.
