How do you pm ,when someone is in a chat room?

Under the person's name will be a pm button, but only if they have it enabled. Some have them completely disabled, some set to friends only and some open to all.

It's still good etiquette to ask someone before you pm them.

Oh, if the other person is using a mobile phone it won't work at all.

Some users may have the feature turned off.

Under each name will be either just a block button, or Block, poke and PM.

Clicking on PM opens a private chat window - rather than the standard site message window.

If you want to send them a message (as in the type you'd normally send someone when visiting their profile, you will have to click on their name - which will open their profile in a new window)
