To me a wink is simply a way of showing that you like a profile. Don’t see any harm in them at all.

I can understand that people get fed up of sending endless messages without receiving replies so it’s easier just to wink.

However, if I’ve winked at someone and they follow that up with a message then I’d always reply. Plain rude not to.

We find that rude, unless of course people blatantly ignore your profile, but if they wink first then definately rude. Replying to messages is simply good manners even if it's a straight forward no thanks
