I don't, I concentrate on the problem until it is solved.

I put my phone away and knit or take my grandchildren out for the day. I have a book I started to read about 15 years ago and can't finish. I've started it 3 times.

I got half way 3 times and lost focus.

I read short erotic stories on my phone and skip loads of text too.

Try another book, this one might not be interesting enough. If that isn't an option try doing something repetitive with your hands like knitting.
