He is definitely an acquired taste and I agree, you need to have followed from the begining. Sometimes it is cringe worthy but then can make you howl with laughter

Really? You got to get him to find him funny I think. He makes me crack up that's all that matters really.

Steve Coogan aka Alan Partridge.....

Cannot see what a lot of people find funny with his "character" or in his real life persona.

Utterly talentless and worthless! Must be a humour thing I don't get at all!

He's been around since 1991 so he can't be that talentless? Loads of tv series' and 2 films. Steve Coogan had done loads more...

Central

I've not seen enough of his old material but have seen enough to find him funny. The new series is different and I'm sticking with it but haven't found the humour to match his earlier work so far.

New writers and directors, so think it's worthy of staying with it, to see how they develop it

He's been around longer than people think. Steve Coogan used to do a lot of voices on Spitting Image from 1984. Before that he did stand up and other random tv stuff.

Let me guess, all the people on this thread that don’t get Alan Partridge think Michael McIntyre is a comedy genius with his wry observations about every day life!

You can hardly call Steve Coogan talentless, he’s probably the best impressionist in the country, but he doesn’t like to get tied down doing just that.

Love AP! Haven't seen the new series yet though. I'm quite tempted to get a t-shirt I've seen online that says "Lynn, they're sex people!" but thought better of it. My Mom's name is also Lynn which makes it way too close for comfort!

Steve coogan is fantastic in the new stan and ollie movie

He nails stan laurel to a tee

Brilliant in all respects from the clipped voice, the facial mannerisms and the way he physically is in synch with laurel.worthy of an oscar i thought.

I thought he was great on The trip series too with rob brydon

Alan partridge is hit and miss though..first episode i laughed all the way..second one i barely smiled and cringed through.

It’s not as funny as his previous series ‘I’m Alan Partridge’, although it’s still very funny. Not saying this about everyone that doesn’t like it, but I have a feeling that some don’t find it funny because they ‘are’ Alan Partridge.
